Mardi Gras Cottage, 4 km to French Quarter
If you are a person that is concerned about clean bedding, this is the property for you! This is a one bedroom, one bath cottage with all amenities. There is NO carpet in the cottage, only beautiful porcelain tile and area rugs. Owner was born in this almost world famous neighborhood and can direct you to all the local watering holes and restaurants that New Orleans is famous for. We are off the beaten path, and can steer you away from the tourist traps. The battle field of New Orleans is one mile from this property. See where General Andrew Jackson and the pirate Jean Lafitte teamed up and defeated the English and liberated the United States of America.

This was our 3rd trip to Arabi and the Mardi Gras cottage and once again, everything was clean, quiet and a bit like coming home. We just love the little place and Michael could'nt be more welcoming. I don't think we'll ever be staying anywhere else when visiting the NOLA area!
Great place to stay with a pet. Fenced in yard on a street that is safe to walk any time day or night. Very clean cottage and plenty of room for two people.
This property was perfect for myself and my dog. The location could not have been any better. Was in town visiting my son who lives in the same neighborhood. Will stay again.
It was our first time visiting New Orleans and was told to stay in surrounding areas! This place did not disappoint. It was quaint, quiet, and clean! The host was also easy to reach.
This property was easy to locate, in a quiet area, and fit all of our needs. It was a small cozy place for us to come to relax after our days in New Orleans. It was close enough to everything for us to leave in the morning, come back to relax and get out of the heat, then go back to NO for dinner. Clean, quiet, comfy!
Was perfect, great yard for doggie guest, quiet walkable neighborhood. Convenient shopping and access to downtown. Uber/Lyft drivers impressed with neighborhood.
We stayed here during a cross country move (after leaving our house but before travel) and this space was perfect. It had everything a traveler could want, and as a bonus there was a lovely outdoor covered patio. We enjoyed using the kitchen and we appreciated the laundry facilities. The hosts are friendly, communicative and helpful. We would gladly stay here again.
This was a nice property. The cottage was cute and comfortable. Close to stores and restaurants. It never took long for Uber to get there and the rates to Downtown were very reasonable, especially compared to parking your own car. Would definitely recommend.
The neighbors were nice, the accommodations were nice. Michael was awesome. The neighborhood was close to the fun, but felt safe.
The only minor downside was the bed/couch in the livingroom was uncomfortable to sit on for visits.
We would 100% recommend this place.
Coming back to this cottage again made our vacation in NOLA so much nicer because we already new the lay of the land and the cleanliness of the place made us feel so at home!!. Michael always hands on for anything with a laugh and great advice on restaurants and surrounding area. So much better than staying in a hotel!! We are looking forward to our next visit already! Thank-you!
Best experience I’ve had with a Vrbo host. Michael was a true southern gentleman from the instant I booked his place. Communication, cleanliness, expectation of unit, hospitality - he’s got it all!! Thank you, Michael for an awesome experience for me and especially my son Carter. You helped make this trip extra special!! Highly recommend!!
(I’m not sure what the winery experience is as we did not see any wineries). We enjoyed staying at this property with our small dog. There’s plenty of grass on both sides of the property (there’s a home and two separate cottages). The cottage is perfect for the two of us; it also had a day bed that pulls out, but we found it somewhat uncomfortable to sit on as there’s not a couch. We alternated sitting on the recliner chair. The bed was comfortable to sleep on and towels, shampoos/liquid soap available. The cottage was clean and has basics available for cooking. We appreciated the booklet giving recommendations for restaurants! We went to Parish Cafe and Me-Me’s. We felt safe and would definitely come back with our dog! The str Jazmine arch between the two cottages smelled amazing!
I had to book this property within less than two weeks of my trip because my other reservation canceled on me by the owner. The booking process was easy. The check in process was a little confusing, but the owner was very quick to answer my call and explain how to get into the unit. The unit was small but sufficient for me and my two kids and our dogs. The unit could use a little more dusting, but I felt overall it was clean. The backyard was really nice although the neighbor dog was sneaking into the yard through a hole in the fence and it made me nervous, so I made sure to walk around with my dogs every time. The neighborhood seems a little unsafe and is right across from my military compound. If I had known this, I probably would’ve picked a different neighborhood since I was traveling alone with my kids.
Never having used one of these services before, I was a little nervous. However, this property was great. Loved having a washer/dryer, came in super handy. Very cute place overall.
Only minor inconveniences: some stains on the sheets made us unsure if they had been washed, and there was not an extra Q set in the house, so we washed them. Turns out it was just stains, but I'd probably bleach them or leave them as a backup in the closet & put some new ones on. Also, there's a "New Orleans smell"... I think it's the water (it was always stronger after flushing) but at first we thought it was from someone having an animal in there, maybe on the throw rugs. An automatic air freshener would do the trick, we got some Febreze and it made all the difference.
Loved being a few miles from the fairgrounds but still far enough out to NOT be touristy or sketchy.
Great diners and easy shopping right down the road, close to Chalmette Battleground Memorial.
Would definitely stay again!
