We love New Bern and this little apartment was right in heart of town! Great location- right around corner from our favorite restaurants! Perfect for a quick getaway!
This was our first time staying above retail! Very interesting experience. Loved the convenience to downtown. We were nervous about street/restaurant noise but it was a nonissue. Would stay again!
You are definitely in a great location as far as distance to restaurants, tourist spots. We had a little snafu initially with the front door key not working (humidity and old wooden doors can cause some sticking) but we were redirected and able to get in. I didn't like keeping up with a key, really, but that was a small inconvenience. I'm sure they can't put keypad locks on everything since it's an older building. Would definitely recommend the space for couples or singles. It isn't handicap accessible (a lot of stairs) but a nice space in general.
It was a short stay 3 days. The property was easy to walk around the downtown area. I’ve had a recent surgery so I’m using a cane. It was perfect to be able to get downstairs and walk around the downtown area. The host came by to check on me because I had locked myself out. Overall a very nice stay!
Very nice place to stay, right downtown, walk everywhere, parking was great, communication with landlord was excellent, question or issue, he responded fast. We had no issues, all was great, will definitely stay there again next time we visit New Bern
This location was wonderful. Everything was walkable. There was plenty of space for two people to use the two bedrooms and spend time relaxing in the living room. Just a note, if you have mobility problems, such as climbing stairs this would not be a good choice.
A great place to walk to all the fabulous places New Bern has to offer.

The place was great, the only thing we had to wait more than 40 minutes to get the key, since the person in charge of it forgot to place it. But we enjoyed our time there!
This apt/condo was awesome. We were in New Bern for a wedding. We did not need our car. We were right downtown and could walk to River front. The apartment was so clean and comfortable. Never been to New Bern and can’t wait to go back. Great restaurants and bars. David the owner answered our questions within 5 minutes of texting him!!!
Location is in middle of historic district within walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks, and historic sights. Condo was well maintained and very clean. It is remodeled second story building. Parking behind building was convenient. The bbq cooking in the parking lot of the restaurant next door is very tempting. I little noise from restaurant below but it was just talking which quieted about 10-11:00 pm. Would stay there again.
The location is fabulous! The condo puts you in walking distance of everything... shops, restaurants, the waterfront. There's plenty of space for four people and it was clean. Like other reviewers, I'd just say a few more details for check-in and check-out would be helpful... like directions for how to get to the back of the building for parking (you go through other parking lots to get there) and directions for what to do with bedding, towels etc upon departure. Overall a great stay.
We had such a wonderful weekend celebrating my “65” birthday in downtown New Bern! The accommodations were wonderful…you cant beat the location…we covered alot of territory in just 2 days…the restaurants are amazing (Mjs always my favorite)
We went to footloose on the news for the Fleetwood Mac tribute, which was awesome! Saw “Hot buttered Grits at the brown pelican. They were wonderful as well! Can’t wait to book another fabulous weekend in the future. Thank you again! Btw…Denise does a great job.😊
It is in a perfect location. We were able to walk to Tryon Palace and all of the dining locations on our list. We loved all the unique shopping places within walking distance. Check in and check out was easy. The only difficulty was finding the behind the building private parking spaces. We ended up parking on the street right in front of our door (which was probably better) and never moved it. It was a cozy little place. We loved it and were prepared for the stairs. We were there for a Friday and Saturday night.
We really loved the location of this property since it was in walking distance to the water, restaurants/bars, and shops. The property was spacious and appeared to be well taken care of. It would have been nice to have better views (aware that this is not fixable.) Also, we wished the 4 parking spaces in the back had better identification. There were no checkout instructions, se we made sure all of the dishes were in the dishwasher and the sheets and towels were next to the washing machine. We would have started both appliances but didn't know when the cleaning crew would be there and were afraid of something going wrong (we learned from personal experience about a flooding dishwasher. Overall, a great place in the heart of downtown New Bern!
First, the best thing about this place is the location. You can literally walk to everything for the entire stay. We were in unit B (2 beds/1bath) and it was very clean. There were plenty of towels, and the beds were comfortable.
We did have trouble getting in the front door when we first got there; apparently other people staying in adjacent rooms had the same problem. I notified the owner, but never got a response. Luckily, our room had a back door entrance so it didn't bother us any.
There are some updates that would have made the trip easier for us.
1. There was only one physical key to access the room; we had two couples, so we were constantly having to keep up with who had the key and coordinate when we'd get back to the room. Keypad locks would have made it MUCH easier.
2. We stayed on a VERY hot weekend, and the bedrooms got hot if you shut the door. You had to keep the door open and the ceiling fans going to keep the cool air circulating.
3. There were no smart TVs. Not a big deal, but it was the most basic channels and not all of them came in clear. Seemed a little out dated for me.
Overall, the issues we had would not prevent us from renting there again. They were minor for us, so I would recommend this place if you want to explore downtown New Bern.
