Top New Abbey Corn Mill Hotel Reviews
Holiday Inn Dumfries by IHG
8/10 Good
"The Dumfries Holiday Inn was an overnight stay for us. The room was large and comfortable, and in the new part of the building. It was clean and functional and we had no complaints. The dinner was of a good standard, and the staff handled a change of order mid-way well. We had wine served in a slightly dirty glass, but that was dealt with promptly and with an apology and minimal fuss. The bar staff, waitress and waiter couldn’t have nicer. There was a suggestion made about a walk round the really interesting grounds of the university that the hotel sits in. The waitress knew about a map that reception had but the receptionist did not. That was sorted, so an early morning walk was taken and enjoyed. Breakfast was good and very much enjoyed. Check out was simple. A good hotel, that we would recommend and would stay at again."
Martha's Shore Cottage
10/10 Excellent
"Unusual cottage with lovely views from every room. Thoughtful welcome pack.Very warm."
1 bedroom accommodation in Dumfries
10/10 Excellent
"Brilliant wee bolt-hole. Absolutely as described. Perfect for a couples getaway and pet friendly too. Recommend breakfast or lunch at the boathouse and a pint in The Nith. Steaks good at The Nith."
Branta Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"Great value property with great view of the Nith river. Would recommended and stay again if in the area. Be aware it is on a road with regular passing traffic. It was a shame you cannot view the river from the garden/patio area if sitting as the fence is too high. We overcame this by moving the table into the parking area outside the cottage boundary. For some (strange) reason there is no front gate which means you need to walk some distance to exit the property on foot. Also, BEWARE, if taking a dog there is an additional charge. On Vbro this is hidden away/not made obvious and only came to light when contacted by the letting agent asking for an additional fee - NOT ACCEPTABLE in this day and age.It will make me think twice about booking through Vbro again!!"
