Quiet weekend away
Spotlessly clean! Kick Back was a great cabin for two adults and our Labrador. Nice touches for dog owners. We particularly loved the two completely fenced areas out each of the side doors. The cabin is at the back of the property, very nice and private. We would definitely stay again.

Great trip
Overall it was a good trip, the kick back cabin was nice. More remote than I expected. But we made it work. The town neilsonville did not have much and was kind of empty not much for dinning out. But the caves near by was absolutely beautiful and was a lot to do closer to the caves. Otherwise the cabin and property was beautiful and quiet nice and relaxing. We did loose power one time but came right back on, a storm blew thru quickly. Cell reception was very spotty and the Internet was spotty to. But overall was a great trip and the cabin was nice and clean.

The honest review.
I would totally stay here again... It has potential to be great! It's huge inside! The structure is really cool. Very open space to relax and spend time after long hikes. It's very close to all of the wonderful destinations Hocking Hills has to offer. We enjoyed swinging on the porch and listening to the birds. It's also affordable and you can bring your dog. What more could you ask for? However... This is an honest review. Either the renter isn't taken care of the property, or the people that are being hired to take care of it aren't doing their job. Upon first arriving, I could tell that the property was not up kept on the exterior. It hadn't been mowed or weed whipped in quite some time. There was a tree that had fallen on the structure above the hammock (which was disgusting/unusable). The entire deck was filthy and hadn't been swept off. There were leaves all over the hot tub cover (which we didn't use, I didn't trust the water was clean). The grill was filthy. I didn't use it. Inside.... There were obvious signs of neglect/ abuse. The curtain rods are all bent up because people probably abuse the cabin. The doors don't close properly in the bedroom and the bathroom smells pretty bad. Everything in every cabinet/ drawer is either junk, or out of place, and should be thrown away. The fans are kind of sketchy. It needs updated or someone to really go through it give it some TLC. It could be immaculate!

Although I thought the cabin was very nice inside, it was not maintenanced outside and cleaned inside like it should be. Everything online as far as making arrangements was easy. Nick was always there if I had any questions or concerns. The location I have got to say was awesome. Very private and secluded. It was a nice weekend getaway for our family

Short Get Away
If you are looking for a cozy, private get away, this is a wonderful spot! This is not a cluster of cabins where you have neighbors. It is private and deeper into the woods. Cell phone reception wasn’t great, but the point of being there was to disconnect, so that was fine with me. The owners have the cabin all set up for a dog with dog doors and fenced in areas. My dog is a rescue who isn’t good with other dogs, but we had acres to ourselves to walk trails. This is the first time he could be free to walk with us, and he loved it. I think he is most upset that we had to come back home! The cabin is light, airy and cozy. It’s secluded, but still within close proximity to grocery stores and restaurants. Although it rained during my stay, it was still a nice get away.

Upkeep on building and property poor.
Loved the location, solitude, but upon arrival we were quite shocked by the condition of the cabin. First impression you open up the screen door and there were holes in screens and table and chairs on porch uninviting. We do love "quaintness"and normally don't consider ourselves as snobs. The internet was down 90% of time, so no use of tv or cell phones to look at weather, plan our hiking or biking. Bad to be so attached to these devises. Window seals were broken, curtain rods bent etc. We did love the high ceilings, necessary supplies, and especially loved sitting on back deck and swing. With just a few investments they could ask a bigger price to make cabin more appealing. Hosts were very kind and helpful.
