We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home! The outside fire pit was a real hit! The kitchen had everything we could ever possibly need. The neighborhood was gorgeous, so private, wooded and serene. We didn’t see a moose but that’s simply a reason to come back again!
Everything was perfect! Beautiful home surrounded by the trees, close to Boulder, kid friendly, fully stocked, great communication with owner! Loved this place!!
Light-filled, uncluttered space with pretty views. Comfy beds and warm wood floors. We enjoyed a hike from the home down to Boulder Creek through the snow, and were visited by a moose and calf in the backyard. Easy communication and check in.
This is a very nice home with a great location. It was perfectly located to hit Eldora during the day and Boulder during the evening. Well appointed home. We really enjoyed the steam shower in the Master bathroom. The owner was easy to communicate with, we highly recommend this home.
We had a lovely time. Our family from Kansas wanted a mountain getaway, and this home checked all the boxes. We saw moose & deer, took a long hike, rested, chatted around the fire pit & played games. We hope to be back soon!
We are enjoyed our weekend at this wonderful house. Super clean, big kitchen, great windows. All three bedrooms big and comfortable. Great location, very close to Nederland. We enjoyed seeing the bright stars at night and the woods around us during the day. The highlight was a 6 or 7 point moose walked through the backyard on our final day.
Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Everything we needed to host a Thanksgiving weekend. The kitchen and adjoining great room were perfect for gathering. We easily made the whole meal including baking pies. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds with fluffy down comforters. Every day we had moose visitors in the back yard which was a thrill!
Was a very nice place. Easy to get to from Boulder/ Nederland, and was a quiet area to enjoy the mountains. Host was very responsive to questions, and even messaged us the first night to make sure all was well. Even saw the moose in the backyard on the first morning. Got 4-5 inches of snow over the 2 days, but road was plowed and able to get out.
Amazing home! Spacious, clean, well stocked and great location. We were created by not ONE but THREE moose during our stay who spent well over an hour in the backyard licking a tree stump. Thankfully the large windows in the back allowed us to keep our distance and watch through the glass. We will definitely be back!
The retreat is BEAUTIFUL and in almost pristine surroundings. We saw Moose in the back yard 3 mornings and Mule Dear once - not to mention numerous rabbits, chipmunks and birds. I saw a bald eagle fly over the property one day. The house is large and immaculately decorated. Very near to the town and many hiking and scenic sites. The owners were responsive and helpful when needed.
Loved this place! We came in from California with family from Oregon and Colorado to have a Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation with our adult Children. What a perfect place to gather and have a great time together. The house was spacious with great amenities for all 6 adults. Could have easily handled more people. It served as a great base camp to explore the Rocky Mountaion National Park, Estes Park, Boulder and Nedeland. We even had the resident Moose visit us twice in the backyard. She loves eating and licking the tree stumps! We look forward to retuning again some day to explore more. Thanks Pieter & Charlotte for providing such a wonerful home for us to share memories with!
From the start, this was an excellent choice. The owner Pieter was very accommodating. The house was wonderful, clean comfortable and exceptionally decorated. It had everything we needed. Yes, the location is at 8200 feet and a 30 minute drive to CU Boulder but the views are worth it! It allowed us to stay in a home as a family, rather than paying exorbitant hotel rates. And on the morning of our departure, we saw a moose in the yard! It was really quite a couple of dayys we will never forget. Thank you Pieter and VRBO.
Our group consisted of two teenagers, two middle aged adults, and one senior citizen. We all thoroughly enjoyed the house, especially the gas fire pit and the steam shower. We picked this house because of its location in the mountains and it’s proximity to Boulder and Nederland. We had a college visit at CU Boulder and spent the most of the day there with less than a 30 minute drive to the house. The rest of our time we spent eating and drinking in Nederland (5-8 minute drive) and visiting the gorgeous Rocky Mountain National Park (about 1.25 hour drive to the Beaver Meadows gate). The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. We’d definitely book here again.
We were very pleased to find this house to call home for 5 days! We found everything we needed for cooking, dining and visiting as a group. Beautiful place to stay! Thank you Pieter.
Very clean, attractive, well-decorated house with beautiful grounds and views! We loved lounging on the sofas and talking around the fire pit. Beautiful cutlery, serving dishes, and large cutting boards allowed us to make charcuterie boards and host a really nice dinner at home. Very nice and helpful hosts. Thorough instructions and local recommendations. We loved staying here!
The place was beautiful and host responsive when we had a small issue. We had fun eating dinners and playing games with our friends every evening while taking fun day trips together. We saw three mule deer and a moose that we named "Lola" in the backyard!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway we knew we had booked the right home for our mountain getaway vacation! This area is beautiful and this home was spectacular. We had the best time here. Very clean and all the amenities we had hoped for. Stunning views of the night stars from the open upper crows nest! After a long days hike at RMNP we enjoyed the whirlpool tub in the master bathroom. The patio was awesome as well, we had mule deer right in the backyard most mornings. Kitchen was fully equipped and we made use of the grill a few nights as well. We were about 10 minutes from Nederland, 30 minutes from Boulder and roughly 55 minutes from RMNP using the Peak to Peak highway. You will not be sorry staying here. Pieter and Charlotte were amazing hosts and quickly responded to the few questions we did have. All five in our group had an amazing vacation and it all started with this amazing home! In my own opinion it felt like a nicer mountain home then I deserved to stay in. From here on out this will be our vacation home each time we're in the area.
