Trails End Cabin, Pet Friendly, Lake James Oasis

  • Secluded cabin in the woods located in Nebo, NC in close proximity to Lake James, known to be one of the most scenic and cleanest lakes in the Southeast. We have an awesome outdoor area to enjoy with fire pit to relax around. Property directly links to the OverMountain Victory Trail via stone staircase with access to hundreds of miles of beautiful hiking. We are best suited to sleep 4 but 6 is ok if you don't mind a sleeper sofa (its new). We are located 4 miles from the Linville Gorge, 2.2 miles from Lake James State Park, 1.2 miles from Fonta Flora Brewery at Whippoorwill, and 7 miles from Mica Town Brewery Nebo. Marion Lake Club is within about 5 miles if you love golf, they also have a very tasty bistro called Slices. Mountain bike, hike, swim, kayak or canoe at Lake James State Park. Rent a boat to enjoy Lake James. Unfortunately, our property does not have adequate space for you to bring your own boat.

The cabin was absolutely adorable. Stocked with all the necessary supplies, great fire pit area, trails right behind the house, comfortable lounge area and bedrooms, clean bathrooms, I loved it all.

Small but cozy, we had a great time! So beautiful at night sitting out at the firepit with the very pretty lights they had strung up and enjoying the peaceful cool night air. Good communication the whole time.

Sweet quiet home close to Lake James!

My 14yr old twins, our 9yr old boxer and myself really enjoyed our time at this home. Literally a quiet little spot, on beautiful land with owners who take a lot of pride in their peaceful abode. All of the basics covered here and we’ll be back for sure, spreading the word with friends.

Great retreat

Great property with a comfortable cabin and great outdoor space. Tne cabin was perfect for the two of us and our 2 dogs. The ownerrs provided many nicw touches. The outside area includes a fire pit wity Adirondack chairs. We ebjoyed the short climb up a staircase to hiking trails. Close to several trails arounf James Lake.

Family Adventure

The owners were very thoughtful and well organized. The property was cozy and clean - our family had a wonderful visit! It was easy to jump on the gorgeous trails or drive to the state park and lake. We didnt use the fire because our kids were so worn out from all the fun at the end of the day, but it was a beautiful space. The owners clearly love the space and provided lots of little supplies that also made it convenient.

Trails End

The Trails End cabin is a great getaway for a couple or family. You only need food and clothes. It is nestled in a wooded area that fits its name. A short distance to Lake James and surrounding area. Very clean and cozy. Anyone would love their stay at this cabin. Roast marshmallows over the fire pit, and grill whatever you like on the charcoal grill. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

5-star Gem in Nebo NC

This private, quaint Trails End Cabin is the best way to experience all of the outdoors that western NC has to offer. The hosts Josh and Sharon, have all of the well stocked amenities, inside and out, to make your stay very comfortable. From plenty of toiletries, extra coffee and quiet outside grilling/fire pit. Could not ask for a better experience and definitely will come back. I would rate 10-Stars if possible!

A lovely place to unwind

Arriving at Trail’s End is such a treat. The little cottage is nestled in at the end of the drive with beautiful rhododendron and rocks and a little creek on site. The back bedroom is a cozy cabin-like room with a very comfortable bed. The trails were fun to explore. Also really enjoyed the Paddy’s Creek trail in Lake James State Park and Fonta Flora brewing (whipporwil farm location) was fantastic. This is a really lovely place. The hosts are so thoughtful and responsive. The place is private and certainly feels safe for solo travelers. Also nice to find a place that welcomes dogs so graciously while still being really clean. Would definitely recommend to others.

Secluded Blue Ridge Mountains Escape

My partner and I were looking for a secluded mountain stay for the autumn colors. This place was perfect for what we were looking for. The outdoor fire place was a nice touch as well as the sound of the trickling ~stream. I work remotely, and the internet was not very strong. It was just sufficient enough to carry video calls with intermittent video freezing, though the audio did not freeze on my end... If you need to work while you are staying here, it may not be the best option...but doable for my requirements.
