Very good

I read the reviews of others and here's my experience. I did not have any bad smells and my son (who is allergic to cats) did not have any allergy issues. It is obviously an older property, so it's not a modern, freshly painted environment. Things are obviously used, but the renters have done a good job making the space usable and feel "homey". I am pretty easy to please, not a diva so the little grandma type accents I looked at as sweet and quaint. We loved that the dollar general was right behind the house, and we could walk over to Casey's and buy a drink! I'd stay there again, it was comfortable for us and I was grateful to have somewhere to stay, so thank you!
We had a great stay in the Fairy Bowery! On the website it has a single bed listed in the bedroom, we were happy to see it was a bunk bed! We had a great stay and the host was very accommodating.
Our stay in Nauvoo was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Rebecca and her exceptional apartment. Rebecca was incredibly informative and proactive in her communications before our stay, making everything seamless and stress-free. The apartment itself was immaculate and exceeded our expectations in every way. It had everything we needed, which truly made our time in Nauvoo easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here—Rebecca has created a fantastic experience for her guests!

The Fairy Bowery was clean and felt like home. It was so nice to be able to just relax and not worry about a long list of check out rules. We would absolutely stay here again!
Our family enjoyed our stay at the fairy Bowery. The location was perfect for our visit. We really didn’t spend much time there, but each night when we returned we had a great nights sleep. Plenty of beds, air mattresses, blankets, etc. We loved that it had two full bathrooms for our family of six.
REALLY nice apartment! Comfy and well stocked with bedding, pots and pans, towels etc. Its an old house, which I love, but the floor creaks so don't plan on sneaking in the kitchen for a midnight snack! We had a super great time and definitely would come back to this apartment!
Beautiful older apartment. Charming environment. Well stocked kitchen with all the tools to prepare meals. Responsive owners. I’m now a repeat visitor.
WE really enjoyed it, and the location for Nauvoo. It was very nice. Loved the angels and the mice pics. It was roomy. Loved the large table so we could play games.
Thank You
Good Location, Clean and Comfortable..but the SMELL
Pros: The place was very clean and comfortable for our stay. The location was excellent. The hostess was kind and was willing to make our stay more comfortable. Cons: The smell of pets was REALLY BAD. The odor was overwhelming. It took some time before we got used to it, but it hit us every time we came back there.
It was a cute little place. It was just me and a friend so plenty of room. Excellent location and easy parking. I could smell the cat smell that other reviews posted about so just be aware of that if you are allergic. The place was clean. We didn't need to use the kitchen at all so I can't speak to appliances.

Cat urine SMELL... otherwise quaint place
The smell of cat urine was overwhelming and we had to cancel our second night since we couldn't bear it anymore. Grateful the host refunded night 2. Had it not been for the smell we would have enjoyed our stay. Great location, clean (except for the smell), and quaint style that reflects the area. Host was responsive and allowed us to check in early due to our unexpected early arrival. I missed some of the other reviews about the smell and just went off of the reviews of 8.4 out of 10. Wished I had looked closer. If you don't mind the smell of cat urine, it should be a nice stay.
I would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.
It's in a cute old building. My parents appreciated the Master bedroom and bath.
Just up the street from the temple and Zion's Mercantile.
And a quick drive to the historic buildings.
There are stairs to get to the front door and a few more stairs just inside. But, the outside steps are lighted and all the stairs are easy to navigate.
The master bed is comfortable. The bunk beds appear to be sized and accessible for children rather than adults (tight squeeze but doable). Two full baths great for multiple people staying. The kitchen has plenty dishware, utensils, equipment. The rooms are clean.
Rebeca was readily reachable.
This is a great space and a perfect location. I cant really imagine finding anything better for the price and it was exactly what we needed. The house is old, and I believe that is part of what contributes to the smell, but there's also some kind of animal smell. I honestly wonder if it isn't bats? The primary smell seemed to be coming from the entry area and when we closed of the door at the top of the stairs it made it much better. Overall though, this is a great place. We have animals at home and live on a hobby farm, the smell wasnt that bad and for the price and location I will definitely look to stay here again!

This is a very old property. Of course for the money I did expect this. Flight and a half of stairs up to rooms. Not a real two bedroom-a curtain separates bunk beds from living area. We thought there were two queens plus bunk beds (says 6 people). Under bed was dirty. Smelled and problems opening up windows when it got stuffy, warm. Cheap option for Nauvoo but for a family on the cheap. Fairies around were cute. Kitchen was clean. Had games.
It just had a funny smell - like it had been shut up for awhile or was musty. Other than the funky odor everything was clean and easy to utilize

It was in a great location. The unit was clean but there was a heavy smell of cats. The walk-in shower would only flow for 15 seconds and would shut off. Finally discovered a weird little valve behind the shower head.
The property is in a great location and has two full bathrooms. It is definitely an older home with all the charms that come with it. There was an issue with the cleaning schedule and the unit was not clean when we arrived. The owner was very responsive and did her best to take care of the situation. Parking was right at the unit and always available. We stayed 6 nights and did laundry at the local laundry mat which is very close to the unit.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Host responded rapidly to communication and values constructive feedback. The unit was older and quirky but very comfortable. Kitchen was well appointed for preparing and eating our simple meals. We watched our favorite series using the HDMI cable that the host thoughtfully provided, and there was a Roku device attached, but we did not use it. WiFi had lots of bandwidth. Convenience store and Dollar General directly next door on either side, respectively. Would be a great unit for a young family on a visit to Nauvoo.
The house was perfectly located within walking distance to stores and downtown. I was sufficient in size. Unfortunately it smelled like cat urine and kitty litter. When we wanted to buy some form of air freshener, there was a note stating that they were not allowed to be used in the house?! . The shower water never got hot enough. It stayed just above the warm temp. The wood stairs leading up to the house were not lit and so it was dangerous to walk up and down when they were wet and slippery.
Loved this home. This cozy home was built about 1901. We enjoyed our stay there. Queen bedroom with full bathroom. Second bathroom by the kitchen. Second bedroom has a twin bed. There is also a sofa sleeper and air mattress. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dishes, toaster, coffee maker, ice cream maker, mixer, blender and slow cooker. We were able to cook all our meals. I loved it. Owner is quick to respond to question. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I was so grateful I was able to bring my 14 year old cat. This was a home away from home. It is on a second floor. There is a secure private entrance. Parking on site. It’s a gem in Nauvoo.
I recently stayed at this apartment and was extremely disappointed. The pictures promised a clean, cozy space with a blue couch, a tan chair, a beautiful rug, and a twin bed. However, the reality was far from what was advertised. The blue couch was actually covered in a sloppy, ill-fitting cover over a non-functioning pull-out bed. The tan chair? Covered with an unattractive floral print slipcover. There was no rug in sight.
To make matters worse, the house smelled strongly of cat urine upon entering, and the odor only intensified when the air conditioner was on, circulating the smell throughout the apartment. When I brought this up to the owner, I was told, "Some people smell it, some don’t," and they offered me a candle as a solution. A candle?! There's even a note on the refrigerator that says, "Do not use air fresheners in the apartment, only cleaning supplies," which made me question if the apartment had been cleaned properly.
I’m shocked that no one has written a review about this before. I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean and pleasant stay.
