"Very close to trail heads to go riding! The neighbors were very helpful even at 12:30am when we were lost! We loved that they had activity for our children to do as in coloring, games & painting! It was a very cute cabin & the 2nd cabin was great for a friend of ours. It was also located near gas stations & two different diners which was nice."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Naugatuck?
Given that Naugatuck, West Virginia, is a very small, rural community, the best area to stay is in the surrounding region, specifically in larger nearby towns like Williamson or Matewan, which offer the most accommodation options and amenities.Williamson, often called the "Heart of the Coalfields," is the most practical choice for travellers seeking convenience and a broader selection of places to stay. The town centre is located along the Tug Fork River and features a historic downtown area with several local shops and eateries. Hotels here typically offer more services than anything available directly in Naugatuck. For those interested in the area's rich history, particularly the Hatfield-McCoy feuds, Matewan provides a more focused experience. This smaller town, just a short drive from Naugatuck, is known for its historic district and the Matewan Depot Replica Museum.
When is the best time to go to Naugatuck?
The best time to visit Naugatuck depends on your preference for outdoor activities and weather, with late spring and early autumn generally offering the most favourable conditions. For those planning to explore the outdoors, particularly the Hatfield-McCoy Trails, the months of May, June, September, and October are ideal. During these periods, the weather is typically mild and pleasant, with comfortable temperatures for riding ATVs, hiking, or fishing without the extreme heat of summer or the chill of winter. The foliage in autumn is particularly scenic.Summer, from July to August, can be quite warm and humid, which might be less comfortable for strenuous outdoor activities. However, it's still a popular time for those who don't mind the heat and want to enjoy longer daylight hours.
