The management company was very welcoming, and the landscape was beautiful. The house had a sewage smell that would not dissipate, there was so much paraphernalia and decoration in the home that it was impossible for it to all get dusted, and the bedrooms were very, very warm.
It was a very enjoyable stay once you got past the driveway which was straight down then straight up. Loved all the amenities. Excellent views and very quiet and private.,
My spouse and two of our friends made our annual pilgrimage to Brown County for some trail riding and stayed at the Lone Star Cabin this year. The location was great – close to town and trails. The cabin had a few quirks, but lots of character that more than made up for it. Weather on the rainy side, and realy appreciated the space to speard out and the big (covered) front porch. Cool place. I'd definitley stay here again.
The cabin was very secluded, yet close to town, so we liked the privacy. The cabin was accurate to its description. The driveway is steep and I would be worried if there was snow. We were pleasantly surprised there was a Christmas tree. The cabin was cold and you can’t adjust the thermostat. We had elderly parents that need it warmer. All the wood was wet and didn’t burn well in the wood burning fireplace, so we couldn’t get warm. Our only disappointments were no overhead lighting in any rooms, so we arrived late and couldn’t find lamps in the dark and a television upstairs for others to watch would have been a nice addition. Overall we were happy with the space!
The overall stay was good. Loved the location. Very secluded, peaceful and quiet. We had a wonderful visit. The cleanliness of the cabin was not good. As soon as you walk in the musty smell hits you in the face. The downstairs bathroom smells like sewage. It is questionable if the sheets had been cleaned from the prior renters. All the beds look like the sheets had been slept in. When we removed the sheets from one of the beds upstairs there was hair and dirt all over the matress pad. The kitchen curtains have so much dust on them you can scrape it off, the couch had so much dust on the back of the arms it looked like a thick cobweb, the walls are dirty and had cobwebs hanging on them. Granted it is a cabin out in the woods but the place should be maintained and the inside should be clean. For the price per night I would expect better. It really looks like noone has been there for a couple of years. Also you can literally hear every word, movement and sound throughout the whole cabin the walls and floors are so thin. No privacy!! We did have a nice stay the place just needs some TLC.
We love this house and have stayed here multiple times. It could be cleaner/more updated but the location and outside space is perfect for our family. We like to start the day with bonfires at the huge fire pit and have hot tub time at night. The wifi is sketchy and the rooms are dark but we've learned to prepare and adjust for that. It's cabin life! Super close to town and state park.
Our family enjoyed the home-away-from-home experience. Many amenities were included that made our stay comfortable. Great location!

Nice secluded stay
The late place was pretty clean rustic. We enjoyed the pool table. But there was a sewage line up above that was dripping on the couch. So it was damp the first night we were there and we didn't get to use the couch for our stay. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.
My husband and 20 month old daughter stayed at this property for the weekend. The cabin was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. We loved having the privacy in the woods. Our daughter loved walking around the property. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed Wed-Sat. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom were great. They both looked to be new. Furniture in living room looked to be well worn but comfortable. The upstairs… the bedrooms need some attention. The bathroom didn’t have much lighting. It was dark when taking a shower. Thursday evening the bathroom had a terrible smell which traveled to the whole upstairs. It was very difficult to sleep and to even be up there. The 6 of us had to share the downstairs bathroom for the rest of our stay. We loved the location and the privacy and would even consider staying again if repairs and updating are made.
We very much enjoyed our stay! We loved how close it was to the park and also how secluded it felt especially at night. Great star watching! The air conditioning worked fantastically well which was a huge plus since it was so hot. The amenities were great and the outdoor areas as well. That said, there were a few things that could’ve been better. For instance, the refrigerator was not working. It was constantly beeping and never really got cold. There was an issue with the hot tub and we had to have a service man come and repair it. Also, some of the lighting and lamps in the space didn’t work very well. All that aside, we would definitely stay again.

The Property was Very Nasty Dirty. Sitting on the couches Was Very Unpleasant because of the Deep Dirty Smell. The Whole Cabin is in Deep Need of a Good Deep Cleaning. The Beds were Very Uncomfortable and The Overall feel of the Cabin was Musty Dirty and Horrible Smells when anyone flushed the toilet. We were Booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1 night. All (6) of them us left feeling dirty and nasty after staying 1 night. Not to mention how DARK the cabin was because of Inadequate Lighting and All the Light switches were hidden in the rooms. We were Very Disappointed in our stay because of the overall smell and condition of the cabin.
Cabin is cute l, but EVERY conversation is heard in EVERY room.
Perks - our family was all together, in the middle of nowhere. There was plenty of blankets & towels available. We got to do a scavenger hunt in multiple rooms to find light switches & we were able to cook our own meals! They allow pets for a small fee and deer seem prevelant, as discovered by the amount of poop on the yard.
Hot tub didn't work - kept turning itself off. This was a major disappointment since it was one of our top requests when booking a property.
Lighting in the house is pretty bad - burnt out bulbs & broken lamps were in almost every room.
Necessities were not adequate for our party size; not enough forks to all eat together, only 2 dish towels, 1/4 roll of paper towels, 3.5 rolls single ply toilet paper for 7 people for 4 days/3 nights, 3 dishwasher pods & only 2 garbage bags.
Needless to say, a grocery store run was a necessity.
We were thankful to all be together and would definitely do it again, just not at this cabin.
If you're booked for more than one night or with a larger group, be sure to bring essential items with and when they say you may need 4 wheel drive in the winter, they aren't kidding.
This driveway offers scenery & a rollercoast feel with the drop off and straight up incline to get to the cabin.
