Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Well, you get what you pay for. Let’s start with the positives. The property is very conveniently located across from a Metro station and the Archeological Museum. It’s also within walking distance of Via Toledo and Piazza Dante.
The staff are friendly enough although entirely absent between 6pm and 8am. Not sure what happens in the event of an emergency…
The room was dated, the bed comfortable but noisy, and general standards of hygiene questionable. The washbasin seemed to be permanently blocked which upon the removal of the sink plug and close inspection came down to an enormous hair ball which I had to remove. Mould was also visible in the shower where water pressure was very weak. Toiletries were not provided. The whole place felt quite dusty. My nose was permanently blocked when in.
Security could also be an issue. The doors are quite old and require an actual key to be turned twice when coming into the room and when you close the door. If you don’t lock yourself inside the room anyone can come in. That said, a kick to the door and anyone can come in too.
In sum, it did the job but I won’t be staying again …
