"The place is clean and new but since it’s summer, fan is a must and that’s what we didn’t have. The location looks a little bit unsafe and so we took out all our valuable stuff from the car. But overall, for the price that we paid it was worth it. "

"We had the most amazing stay here! The view was beautiful, the beds were so comfortable, and the house was equipped with everything we could ever need. Peter was a gracious host, he surprised us with welcome treats and very responsive with any questions we had. There were quite a few stairs to get the home, but don’t let it deter you. We plan to return to the area again and would love to stay here again! "

"Wir fühlten uns gleich bei der Ankunft Herzlich Willkommen. Unser kleiner Mann hatte gleich das ganze Spielzeug in Beschlag genommen. "Positiv: Tolle Lage, sehr freundliche Gastgeber, schöner Ort, super Aussicht auf die Burg, schön großer Fernseher, tolle Lage. Negativ: Zusätzliche Kosten in 3 Emails unterschiedlich. Einmal ist die Rede von erstattungsfähiger Kaution, einmal das Bettwäsche extra kostet, einmal von Endreinigung und Bettwäsche und in allen Fällen noch Strom und Wasser. Im Nachhinein ok, aber sehr verwirrend. Zudem wurde trotz Abbuchung nicht der ganze Reisepreis abgebucht?!? Hier mussten wir kurzfristig noch...

Great Property…Killer view!

"A wonderful hotel with a view that could not be matched in the area. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning was a godsend as it was quite warm outside. The view from the terrace should not be missed. The property is a stone’s throw from old castle ruins (free) and an underground sandstone quarry (there is an admission fee), as well as a short walk from the old town. Full disclosure: the hotel is on the top of a hill. While the walk into town was all downhill and relatively easy, the walk back up to the hotel could be viewed as somewhat strenuous."

"Just back from a visit to Idar-Oberstein. Parking was easy, I arrived after 10pm so reception was closed but a staff member was able to quickly get me checked in. Room was perfect for my stay. Hotel is close to the Felsenkirche and castles. The Norma shop is 2 minutes walk away and there are several places to eat in the square."
