the unit itself is an above grade basement suite. it was clean and had all of the amenities. however, it is a basement suite and you can hear footsteps and voices from upstairs. that may or may not be relevant depending on your length of stay. for us it was a bit annoying. the bed is a double bed, so again depending on your comfort level it could be a bit small for two. we had no direct (in person)communication to the hosts. there are alot of house rules including the requirement to book the hot tub in advance. we have never encountered this before. the house is in a neighbourhood with tight streets and parking is a bit tight if you have anything bigger than an SUV. overall a good value for a quick overnighter or short term stay.

We had a lovely time staying at this location. It is very accessible from the ferry terminal and downtown Nanaimo. The rooms are very clean. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, they also prepared a useful instructional booklet for how-to’s and local recommendations. Booking the time for hot tub was very easy as well. Very clean and cosy studio with well equipped kitchen, BBQ and bathroom. We felt very welcome. Introduction and contact with the host was very good, with recommendations for ferry reservations and things-to-do in the area.

Fabulous getaway!

Our stay was great- location easy to find. We were there 9 nights and had no troubles whatsoever. JC offered some local information for us about the area. We were looking for a relaxing getaway and the suite fit the bill. After sightseeing in the area all day it was nice to come back and have space to relax and make a snack. Would definitely recommend it to anyone I know travelling to that area!
