These guests were nice (enough). We truly wish guests would reach out to us if technologically challenged. We understand and are always glad to help. All tv’s work we just have the latest in Roku viewing options so you have to be sure to be savvy what “input” it is on. We have addressed all cleanliness issues and updated or replaced all items mentioned. The beds and living room furniture were stained upon this guests departure and our cleaning company spent additional time getting them clean from this guest. The living room furniture is $15k worth of LoveSac items so we were very disappointed in the way the house was left. The house that is referenced is in a dispute with the town of Nags Head and will soon be removed. It is 4 houses up from our property and does not obstruct views or beach in any way. We believe this was an intentional comment to hurt our rentals as this guest had a wedding at the property which was against our house rules and we had to retain the security deposit for the state they left the house in after their party. Needless to say this guest is no longer allowed at the property. We really feel it is unfortunate when situations like this arise as we want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. We want everyone to feel at home in our house and have the best possible vacation they can have. Communication and cleanliness goes a long way to insure that happens for all parties. We are always willing to help and answer any questions you may have with the area or property. The exterior of the home is currently being upgraded to luxury LP siding and windows and we can’t wait to welcome new guests. Cheers!

We are always saddened by a guest that doesn’t contact us nor read anything regarding the property. We want everyone to have a great stay. The house is accurately reflected in the pictures as is updated. This guests particular style just happens to not be the same so we encourage everyone to look at the pictures first. We also send the entry key code 1 week prior to the stay. This guest said she received then forgot about it. Our house does sleep 17 guests. When our security company went by to check on them they had 12 cars and 31 guests staying at the property. This was a rental agreement violation and this review reflects the disgruntlement of the renter. We highly encourage renters to talk with us before bringing double the allowable number of guests. We will try our best to accommodate every request.

We are glad you loved the views. We do as well. This property is very clean and a professional company spends many hours every turn over day ensuring covid protocols are followed. This guests left an excessive amount of bottles and trash all around the house and we had to charge an additional cleaning fee to repair the property. They asked for a refund because we charged this cleaning fee. We try to accommodate every guest but a little respect always goes a long way.

We appreciate the kind words regarding the house and location! Ironically all of the cleanliness items mentioned, this guest was responsible for. These items were left by the guests and we certainly hope that it was accidental and not intentional. We also sent a pest control company to the property at the end of this stay and they did not find any critters nor any sign they had been there. We hope you enjoyed your stay!

We are happy you had a good trip. The views are the best in the Outer Banks. We are always confused when a traveler says the house is "dated". The pictures we post are up to date and accurately reflect the style of the house. If you do not prefer this style shown in the pictures perhaps this house isn't for you. It is very unprofessional to rate us lower on VRBO because you do not prefer this style of house you had access to prior to booking. The AC units are brand new and were just installed. I am sure this individual would agree in his Charleston home that if someone left the windows and doors open while the AC was running in a 100% humidity environment with a ocean steps away it would cause problems. Our AC is exceptionally efficient but can not cool the outside no matter how much this guest wanted the AC on and the doors and windows open at the same time. This is common sense and we hope other guests understand this dilemma. As always feel free to reach out before booking and we can speak on any of these topics further.

If you prefer another style then this house may not be for you but the pictures accurately reflect the property and style of the beach house. We have our cleaning company do a thorough cleaning and COVID cleaning prior to arrival of every guest. We always let guests know if they think they need something special please let us and know and we will send them back out. We wish this guest would have reached out to us about any issues and we would have immediately corrected. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness with this property.

Thank you for your stay at our beach house. We have since replaced the vacuum per your feedback. We provide a hose for washing off your feet outside the door so you do not track sand into the house. Perhaps this was misplaced during your stay. The pictures accurately reflect the condition of the house so commenting on upgrades is a personal preference. We are happy you love the location and the view. The week of your stay there was a noreaster. These wind storms are relatively rare but can provide more wind than a hurricane on a ocean front house. The house is on pilings like many are down there. During these noreasters you may be able to feel the wind hit the glass doors but the house does not sway. Observing the ocean swell in combination with the intense wind may have provided this guest a feeling of swaying and thus their perception is not accurate to what was actually experienced. We wish we could control the weather during guests stays. We would want all sunshine and great weather but alas we can not. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us.

We are in the service industry so when a customer writes a review like this it saddens us. Especially after we corrected and reached out to this renter multiple times to make sure things were excellent for her stay. Unfortunately you cannot make everyone happy. We let this renter check in early as a gesture of goodwill, and during that phone conversation she specifically stated “if things aren’t up to my standards I am going to request a refund” Starting out with comments like this before you even see the house saddens us as we take pride in our house. The renter mentioned water was on the floor in the kitchen and “black mold” in the bathroom. We immediately sent our cleaning company back out within 45 minutes of her call to us. The company found that the water filtration system in the refrigerator had leaked which she promptly cleaned. The “black mold” in the bathroom was actually mildew on a shower curtain which the company also replaced immediately. All cleaning and replacement took less than a hour, but this renter still asked for a 50% refund within 2 hours of checking in. She called us two days later stating the upstairs was “warm” we called our security company for a report and our HVAC company. The HVAC company checked out the AC and said it was in working order, the security company gave us a spreadsheet of the upstairs doors and windows being left open for multiple hours while the AC was running causing this issue. When explained to renters, she mentioned that the AC should be able to cool with the doors and windows open since it was the beach and that she is requesting a 50% refund. She also stated that if we did not give her a refund she would write a bad review immediately upon leaving. At least she was true to her word. My wife is pregnant so it took us some time to respond to this review, but we want everyone to have a wonderful time at the beach. We have had tons of great reviews and even greater guests. This house is for someone wanting to great time at the beach and the price accurately reflects the location and property we provide. This renter asking for a refund before even entering the house unfortunately set the tone of the one thing this renter wanted from the beginning, a free vacation. We wish we could accommodate, but we do use this rental as a means to support our family. My sincerest apologies.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Dolphin watching is one of our favorite things to do. We agree that the location is ideal and less busy which is another reason we love this house so much. Thank you for your review and your stay. We agree the house is wonderful as well as the location. We love the large decks and the big sliding glass doors and agree it is wonderful to be able to watch your family play on the beach. We are so glad you were able to enjoy all the wonderful amenities the area has to offer. Unfortunately during your stay we had a nor'easter the day before your departure. This is a storm that occurs during the winter and can cause more damage than hurricanes. The video we sent you of the road condition prior to your stay, advised that there may be potential sand on the road over the hard surface and four wheel drive was recommended which you stated was not an issue since you had four wheel drive. The good news is the Town of Nags Head has since scraped the sand and corrected the issue and we have had many more stays without any issues. It is just a risk during the off season when the wind blowing is much stronger. This is a very oceanfront house and with that does come the risk of some sand on the road, usually not in large amounts. The road is state maintained and the Town of Nags Head is working on a more permanent solution as well as we are currently seeking alternative access for the times where the road may not be ideal. That all being said, the road is back in excellent shape and ready for the summer season!
