We loved the house, beach access, and everything about where we were. Owners were helpful and communicative. This is a great place to stay if you want to be right on the beach, with a clear view of your kids playing on the sand from your deck (i.e. there's no dune to climb over for beach access... very nice when you have kids).
One warning to potential renters: The "road" in April was really just part of the beach. We had to drive across a neighbor's yard to get to the driveway. We got our Subaru stuck in the sand in the street but lowered our air pressure and got un-stuck with some pushing. The following day, a Chevy Suburban ended up stuck in the sand and had to call a tow truck. So, if you're renting out of season, be sure you have a 4x4. There appeared to be work underway to remedy the situation with the street. If that gets resolved, this is a 5-star stay.
On the plus-side, this house is at the southern-end of Nags Head, away from much of the crowd, with easy access to the National Seashore and other Nags Head attractions. We took our kids to Hang Gliding School, Kitty Hawk's Wright Brothers memorial, a horse tour by 4x4 in Corolla/Carova. If you have kids this is a good place to stay.
