"Excellent amenities, clean room the BBQ is extremely useful. The only issue I found was a power point to plug in my laptop. There are no power points near the desk, or along the entire wall in that room."
"The grounds are beautifully designed and cared for, the cabin was spotless and the staff were outstanding! We were so impressed we have booked another holiday in Bermagui!!"
"Stayed for a work trip. Room was clean and comfortable, however it was quite noisy. Noise from other rooms opening and closing doors was quite obvious and the guest in the room next door was up at 5am, so I ended up being awake then, too. Great location, across the road from the shopping centre, walking distance to main street of shops and restaurants. Didn't get time to use the pool but looked nice."
"Lovely ladies run this place, very helpful and generous with the little packs of bikkies! Salt water pool, though small, was enough to cool off in on a hot day. However the mattress was way too firm for me so I didn't sleep, but my husband had no such complaints. The sofa was too low and uncomfortable to sit on too. There were no light blocking curtains or blinds so too much light coming into the room at night. Not much sound dampening either so noisy neighbours can be heard. However, we've stayed a couple of times now while visiting relatives and would do so again. I just take an eye mask, earplugs and mattress topper. Why? Because you get what you pay for and for budget motels, it's pretty good.
It's only a short drive into town for good food, it's close to the hospital and to my relatives. The cheapest petrol in town is a block away, and it's close to the highway without going through town, so if you're exploring the coast you've got a good start. A couple of rooms I think have flat doorways from the parking space, for mobility access. No views to speak of. No breakfast but kitchenette if needed. Go to cafe evolve or the red cafe for breakfast and the pearl Chinese restaurant for dinner - they also do excellent fish and chips and other Aussie meals. So this place has all you need. Definitely give it a try."
Cosy mud brick cottage in a serene bush setting, near Tathra. 2 beds, sleeps 4.
8/10 Good
"This is truely a retreat. No radio, clock or TV. Just the sounds of nature. A 1.6k unsealed road and a steepish drive, then the cottage is very private. About 8k from the nearest shops. (Tathra) You get used to the drop toilet which is the cleanest we have ever experienced. The internet is excellent and had Kayo on the laptop and music through our portable speaker. The induction hot plate took a bit of getting used to (for the inexperienced) and you need to plan your meals accordingly as this is the only kitchen appliance. A small portable oven would have been good. The mud brick would be cool in the summer. There were plenty of oil heaters and a pot belly we also used to warm our bread on. Pauline and Niel are terrific hosts and we were pleased to hear about their 40 year journey of the property. The property is located in a stunning area of the hinterland. You will be treated to some of Pauline's peach jam, Indian chutney, some local cheese and her home made choc chip cookies are awesome! Generous and kind hosts you need to meet!"
