"Lovely B&B, the hostess is very nice and welcoming, brought us to the B&B itself, explained everything about the place to us. The B&B itself was a large, well-equipped apartment, clean, with everything you need for a few days' stay. The surrounding yard was wonderful, there is an outdoor bath in the yard. In the summer it is great to take a bath in it. A seating area in the grass above a small stream. Barbecue. We loved the place very much!"
The Bamboo Bungalow Karamea West Coast New Zealand

"Everything about this stay was ranked 5 stars! Mark & Lisa’s Balinese styled home & garden is gorgeous & although we didn’t get to try out the pizza oven or outdoor bath (in winter), the log fire in the kitchen (which was lit before our arrival) kept us warm & cosy. It is a perfect place to return to after a day exploring around Karamea & the locals are very friendly. Communications, booking & accommodation were all PREMO! Try to stay at least 3 nights - it’s worth it! "

"Found this to be a really warm, modern place to stay. Located up on the treeline, the views are fantastic, and even better when the sun sets. Hot tub was warm on arrival and a very welcome way to enjoy the evening."
"We had a nice time in Takaka and exploring the area. Comfy beds and a good size place for a family holiday. The house and surrounding gardens needed a bit of TLC. It wasn't as clean as we would have hoped. Just needs a bit of a spruce - cobwebs definitely need to be swept away! Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again unfortunately."
"A peaceful, rustic environment, ideal as a base to visit locations of Tasman, Moutere, Mapua, Motueka, Nelson etc. A comfy, roomy home, designed to enjoy sun, good kitchen facilities, beautiful views."
"The property was lovely and we had a nice stay but the description of the property is not accurate. It is no longer a working deer farm (much to the disappoint of our kids) and you can’t walk around the property and up through the forest (much to the disappointment of my kids). All in all would recommend still. "
Totara Glen - Bucolic retreat in peaceful countryside
10/10 Excellent
"Our four night stay was lovely. The house is located in a beautiful valley with mountains to each side. Cows and sheep graze in the fields around the house. Thoroughly bucolic. The kitchen supplied everything needed. Our bed was comfortable. A bouquet of freshly picked flowers greeted us upon arrival. The town of Tākaka is a short, scenic drive away, with a supermarket and restaurant options. Lovely beaches are nearby and most important to us, access to Abel Tasman Park. We very much look forward to returning!"
