The best area to stay in Morxdorf is the historic Altstadt (Old Town) due to its central location and easy access to key attractions.

The Altstadt is Morxdorf's cultural heart, characterised by its cobbled streets and well-preserved mediaeval architecture. The main square, Marktplatz, is a focal point, surrounded by traditional gabled houses and the historic Rathaus (City Hall). Many of the city's best restaurants and independent shops can be found on streets radiating from the Marktplatz, such as Hauptstrasse and Kirchgasse.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find the Altstadt particularly appealing. Evenings here are pleasant, with numerous cosy restaurants and wine bars superb for a relaxed dinner. The proximity to the Morxdorf Castle and the scenic river walk along the Elbe River provides lovely opportunities for strolls.

The best time to go to Morxdorf is generally from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to September, when the weather is pleasant and most outdoor activities are available.

During these months, you'll experience mild to warm temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the Morxdorf countryside, visiting local vineyards, or enjoying walks along the Elbe River. The longer daylight hours also allow for more extensive sightseeing.

For those interested in cultural events and festivals, the summer months, particularly July and August, often feature local celebrations and open-air concerts. This is a good time for couples looking for a lively option with opportunities to experience local traditions.

If you prefer a quieter trip with fewer crowds and still pleasant weather, late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September) are excellent choices.
