"The room was spotless and very chic. Its small, so not a lot of room for big luggage. The location was perfect for traveling by train because it's one bus stop away from the train station. Down a few stairs and you're in the charming streets of Basel. I would stay here again! "

"Lovely hotel, this is really cool boutique hotel, a hidden gem…. I usually stay in 5 star hotels but I needed to be in this location. I took a chance on this hotel after reading good reviews and honestly I was not disappointed. The staff are lovely and very helpful."

"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary. The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."

"From arriving at the hotel late, we were welcomed really well. Booking in was so quick and easy. The staff gave advice on how to find the Museum we were visiting the following day and were to get food late on in the evening. From the following morning the Lady in charge of reception absolutely brilliant looking after us impeccably nothing was a bother for our whole stay. We will be at the museum again and will have no problem in booking with the B&B Hotel in Mulhouse ten stars."

"Should have slept in the car. Hotel smells terrible. Residents were apparently practicing WWF Wrestling and all associated noise that goes with it until, and im not kidding 3am. Messaged hotel, called hotel, went to front desk. Place is like the Mary Celest. Spoke to expeida, they couldn't contact them either. Better breakfast served in prison. and to top it all off, the room was all round 'grubby' I am a professional traveller with 20 years on the road internationally. This hotel is serious competition for the worst ive stayed in, and ive stayed in rural india. DONT BOTHER its cheap for a reason. AVOID AVOID AVOID"
