"Overall stay was fine, room had “sugar ants” all over the restrooms and desks next to bed. It was reported and the room was treated. It took until the following day for staff to clean up all the dead “sugar ants” in the restroom/desk. Next day, I found out that the “sugar ants” got to my back pack and took over an opened bag of nuts I had for snaking. Quite disappointing."

"overall it was OK, checking process was not great, at one point I had no hot water (didn't need to report it fixed itself), the hotel is very noisy, the room I was in is at the back of the elevators so can't sleep much and staff was friendly but not very helpful. personally I would avoid staying at Copacabana as I also stayed in Ipanema and it was better."

"Porto Bay Rio is such a beautiful hotel. We booked the panoramic window room and the view is hard to beat. From the sunrises to the sunsets, and even the twinkling lights at night, the view was incredible. We could even see the Christ the redeemer statue from the hotel. The staff were very kind and accommodating. The hotel is also very clean. It’s in a great location with so many places to eat or things to do. It’s right across the street from the beach, which was definitely a plus! They also have an extremely wide variety of food and drinks every day for breakfast. Literally so much to choose from! We’ll be back here for sure!"

"About two blocks away from the beach, felt very safe in the neighborhood. Great food options close by. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs different sausages and lots of fresh fruit and bread options. My only complaint is the scrambled eggs were very wet but overall great food at breakfast! Room was a little small but very clean and nice. Pool was so beautiful and they have a sauna and place to hangout on the roof with great views. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Great location, near the beach and many restaurants, room was clean comfortable but a bit on the small side. WiFi was fantastic, on site paid parking was convenient. Great breakfast with many options , juices and fruits. Great stay."

"Definitely not a 4 star hotel, rooms are not soundproofed adequately for the area of the hotel. Rooms are not 100 clean. Check in experience was terribles. "
