Perfect weekend stay!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Kingsley House. It was immaculate on arrival and had everything we could need for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be coming back with the family for a longer stay soon! Would definitely recommend!

A beautiful home for a perfect stay

Kingsley House was a perfect home away from home for our Christmas break. The house was spotless, beautifully furnished, and full of character, with art that made it feel warm and welcoming rather than a rental. We loved lighting the wood burner after a long walk, and the beautifully decorated Christmas tree was a thoughtful touch ! Comfortable, peaceful, and well equipped, with easy parking thanks to the double driveway, perfect for a long weekend getaway.

Lovely place. Quiet. Home from home.

Kingsley house was a lovely quiet cottage. It was just like home from home. It was in very good order and the perfect place to spend a quiet week exploring the Cotswolds.

Central to all locations

House is in a lovely quiet spot and a public footpath close by to walk the dog and then return to enclosed garden. Beds are comfortable and kitchen well equipped.

Relaxing hideaway

We loved our stay at Kingsley House. The location is perfect for us in that it offered a peaceful location near a village with amenities and away from the bustle of well visited and sometimes over popular Cotswold locations. The cottage was well equipped with most facilities you would require. Off street parking was very good. Some minor cleaning and maintenance issues perhaps stopped the cottage getting five stars.

Perfect Cotswold break

We had a great stay in this lovely house even despite the weather. The house was perfect for the three of us plus two dogs and would thoroughly recommend as it was ideal for a Cotswold break even in January. Due to the terrible weather, we spent quite a lot of time in the house which was very clean and well maintained. We found that the downstairs rooms were a good size and beautifully furnished and we enjoyed the wood burner and the supply of books (including the amazing art books in the downstairs loo). We even made use of the jigsaws. The main bedroom is spacious and light with a good en-suite and the second bedroom suited my teenage daughter very well although she did comment that it needs a mirror. We didn’t use the third bedroom but it looked bigger than it appeared online and I think the furniture has changed slightly from the photos. The kitchen was well equipped and had useful small table in the kitchen which worked well for tea and cake. The location suited us very perfectly and when it eventually dried up, we enjoyed a great walk to Blockley where we found a super cafe/restaurant. We are going to rebook with some friends as there is plenty of space (six people will fit comfortably) and there are still so many walks on the doorstep that we didn’t get to explore. Hopefully, next time we might be able to sit in the garden as it must be lovely in the summer. Excellent communication from StayCotswold before the trip

Short break over Bank holiday with friends

This house is very comfortable in an ideal location. The places we visited could be reached within 20 minutes. Parking was very good for family sized cars. The house was warm and welcoming. There was information provided on bin collections and what to do and not to do in the house. Outside area provided seating in a pleasant semi wild garden. Lots of bird song. So wonderful. The beds were comfortable with good quality linen. Plenty of hot water in the shower and the bath was great too. One aspect that could be improved upon was the provision of mirrors in the bed rooms and one near the sink to aid shaving. Also remind the cleaner to clean skirting boards and nooks and crannies to facilitate a first class stay. The house overall was clean without a doubt but these extra touches would be beneficial.

Lovely house and location

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely house in quiet location. Spacious and homely with garden and patio with comfortable garden furniture. Only improvement would be that the garden needs a bit of attention as climber grown right over the back bedroom window.

Pretty house and surroundings

This is a gorgeous house and setting, let down by cleanliness, dirty pans, and the ingrained dirt around the cooker is awful, it needs a deep deep clean. Garden overgrown and patio had animal faeces so we didn't go out. King size bed in master room has a double sized duvet, which took us time to work out as we never had enough duvet. Cottage is in a beautiful setting, I loved the furniture in the living room and the decor around the house. It's so beautiful and charming, just let itself down. Also this should be know before you go in to the house, we found out after we found the instructions in the house. The bathroom doors are so stiff to open and do not use the locks, you may not be able to get out. I would definitely still come back but should be aware of points above.

Peace and quiet, yet close to an abundance of lovely places and things to do May 2025

Set at the end of a quiet Cotswold Lane with a large gravelled off-road parking area, Kingsley house is perfect for a peaceful and quiet stay, yet close to many places of interest in the beautiful Cotswolds. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has direct access to the garden and is well equipped for self-catering with a good sized fridge-freezer, large cooker, microwave washer and dryer. Maybe slightly short on pans and serving plates/dished but generally fine. The lounge is characterful with comfy seating and has a TV with many channels and Apps. There is a plentiful supply of games, puzzles and cards plus literally hundreds of books. The large dining room is airy and bright with french doors leading out onto a small patio with a small table and chairs - perfect for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine... or both! The fenced garden is lawned with deep beds of shrubs and trees and was a little 'lost' when we were there. The garden is private and gets the sun all day. There are cushions in the under-stairs cupboard for the outdoor patio furniture and also clothes dryer/airer, hoover, brushes etc. The downstairs cloakroom is a bonus and full of books on all-things-art! Upstairs, the 3 bedrooms are nicely furnished, the very large main room having a roomy ensuite and walk-in shower. The small double is very pretty but could do with lined curtains to keep out the light. It shares a full, large bathroom with the twin room, which is 'compact' but adequate. Unfortunately the cleanliness did let the house down, but could have been greatly improved with a little more effort. It was certainly cleaner when we left it! Overall though, we had a lovely stay and were close to many places to visit. The Falconry Centre was a big favourite with the children [9 and 7 yrs] as was the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Would definitely recommend Kingsley House. .
