A little search on Vrbo, we found a historic home to stay in. What a treat! The rental was beyond the price point we usually seek but the home was the cherry on top of a wonderful visit. "We enjoyed our stay here. The host was very responsive, and everything went smoothly. Being an older house, the light/dimmer switches were somewhat of an adventure. Guests should know that only two bedrooms are fully private, with two bedrooms passing through to other bedrooms and one being a loft area above the family room."

"We stayed with our family of 30 people, including 15 grandkids. There are only 4 private bedrooms, but the endless bunk beds in the basement made such a FUN sleeping place! The property was even better than we had imagined, with a gorgeous view of the Mississippi River and acres of grass for playing football and other games. We stayed there in June and enjoyed the magic of fireflies at night, but the favorite activity was swimming in the POOL! It was a lovely place to stay."

"Darling, peaceful home with beautiful views of the Mississippi River. Super clean, newly renovated, with well stocked kitchen. Plenty of blankets, sheets, and towels for everyone. Our family enjoyed our time together playing games at the round dining table. Even had a nice picnic by the river. Home is in such a great location. Close to historic Nauvoo and close to grocery stores and restaurants in Keokuk. We would totally love to stay here again."

"The owner helped us by being flexible and accommodating. We got a day of reservation and there was a problem with the booking. He was quick to respond and fixed the issue right away. We were in town saying goodbye to a family member and the services got moved around several times. With a 2 and a 4 year old needing a nap and a place to hang, we were able to extend our check out for a small fee. Will stay again this summer!"

"My sister and I attended the British and Nauvoo pageants in Nauvoo, IL this week. Hamilton is about 20 min from Nauvoo. We were out and about quite a bit, but we found this lodging very comfortable. The host was very responsive!"

"I grew up in Carthage and occasionally return to see family. The house was quiet, comfortable and well-equipped. It is within walking distance to anything that you would need in the area as far as groceries, restaurants, etc. This will be our number one choice for future visits to the area."
