"The main bed was very nice, but the bunk bed my adult son had to sleep in was a little uncomfortable and we had no bedding just pillows and a quilt with no covers - i did text them at least a week before to enquire as i said my adult son was coming but heard nothing, we also only had 2 towels for 3 adults but dont take anything away from this stunning property, in a stunning location with an amazing hot tub - we had an issue the last night where the washer on the tap broke in the kitchen, so we...

"Lovely stay and lovely host. So nice to be on a working farm with animals. Lovely fresh hens eggs and milk given to us too. Disclaimer to ne signed for the hot tub - but sensational views. Children really enjoyed it. Beautiful in the evening with real log burning fire. Lots of windows and fresh air, although had to put a few trick blinds down as we were all running round half dressed to get in and out the hot tub with farm workers able to see us ha! Very clean, comfortable beds and bedding....

Perfect autumnal reflections in this 15 shot pano taken during a photography trip to the Lake District. We couldn't have picked a better day as the reflections made this place truly awesome. The reflections had actually disappeared as we crossed the bridge but as if by magic the ripples disappeared and the perfect reflection returned. #reflections

The accommodation was clean and tidy, which made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It has a welcoming, atmosphere. It also offers excellent value for money, making it a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere affordable without compromising on comfort. Overall, a straightforward, comfortable place to stay in a great location. Will happily return and recommend to anyone visiting Rhayader."

"We had a good stay, wouldn't return. Weekend breakfast timing is 0800-1000 but we were offered 0700-0900 as the only people in the hotel and the owner had other plans. We asked for 0830 and he put 0800. Later we asked for closer to 0900 and we were told that not possible, we saw them drive off after serving breakfast. The room was good, loose floor tiles in bathroom and only one bath mat despite a shower and separate bath. No snacks and poor selection of hot drinks in the room. Hotel is clearly dated with thin walls and doors, we could hear music in the kitchen in the morning. Difficult to get to plug sockets. Lovely quiet location and Llandrindod is not far away. "

"Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. Room was clean and warm as was the en-suite. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of various tea and coffee sachets available in addition to milks and sweeteners etc. Breakfast was freshly cooked to liking. Although I had no problem parking, the car park is small with limited street parking opposite, which potentially could be an issue during busy periods. Overall, staying at The Talbot was an excellent experience. "
