Nice hotel- excellent staff

Freddy was wonderful! Even though we had booked our tours online he helped arrange for them to pick us up. Breakfast was fresh & cooked to order. Rooms were older but clean. Would stay here again

Great Place to stay

We were in Monteverde overnight and chose this hotel. The manager, Freddy was wonderful. I have never seen someone so willing to help out. Breakfast was great. Would stay again if in the area.

Why would you stay anywhere else?

Breakfasts are fantastic. Self-serve coffee or tea and then you're served a plate of 4 or 5 fruits and juice. You give your order for your eggs; scrambled , fried, omelette, tortilla wrap, egg sandwich or pancakes. Great portions and they ask if want more!! Freddy, the manager of the hotel, is like a concierge. He knows everybody and everything about the town. He has lots of good advice on what to see and what to avoid. He lined up all our tours and adventures for us and we paid less than anybody we met. Rest of the staff are friendly too. Location is great, 150 meters to the main street.

Nice room but not worth the money.

Booked to stay in eddy's cabanas but were told we were booked in eddy's place' a long uphill walk from city centre, room in eddy's place was new and clean with an excellent breakfast. They wanted to charge an extra 13% (ridiculous) for payment by credit card.

Adequate hotel - good price

This hotel is conveniently close to shops and restaurants. The staff was gracious and helpful - their English (and my Spanish) were good enough to get by. Breakfast was included - we LOVE Costa Rican Typico Breakfast with Gallo Pinto and eggs but there were also other items on the menu. No air conditioning - wasn't too much of a problem Nice balcony outside the door with a hammock and chairs - nice place to hang out Mattress was barely adequate. Dog in the backyard yelped for HOURS. MAJOR problem with parking. We had a vehicle with us and the parking was extremely tight. The hotel shares parking with a hair salon (with a motor cycle prominently displayed in the middle of the floor (cool) and a clothing shop. Staff was helpful in booking and advising on local tours, etc - but I felt that they promoted tours that they were compensated for. Still. very helpful.

Highly Recommend!

The owners were very kind and hospitable. We only stayed one night, but would definitely go back. They helped us to find our way in town and gave us some helpful recommendations for activities and eating. The breakfast in the morning was amazing! Great value.
