The schoolhouse is just a great stay. Plenty of room to spread out. Great kitchen facilities. And such a kind and helpful host.

Our recent stay included 5 families with kids 15-22 years old. The schoolhouse provides so much space for families to spread out and have their own privacy, along with awesome group gathering spaces both inside the building and outside on the grounds. We even played pickleball in the gymnasium (brought our own portable net and paddles). We enjoyed games in the yard and stories at night by the fire pit. The kitchen is big with tons of space to cook and prepare food. Ovens worked great. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware. If you have a large group, you may want to bring some extra portable outdoor chairs. We had a great time.

The layout and amenities of the schoolhouse are unique and wonderful. It is a fun place to get together as a whole family, and we loved feeling like there was plenty of space when we were doing group activities or just relaxing. It feels charmingly old-fashioned, but doesn’t lack any modern comforts. There is plenty to do within a half hour drive (we enjoyed Alder Lake, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, and Mt Rainier National Park), and trips to and from the airport are not too long. Some thoughts on the amenities:
- The classroom bedrooms are huge! Beds are comfortable and shelves and outlets are plentiful. Provided space heaters kept us cozy.
- The commercial kitchen is great when cooking for a crowd. There are plenty of kitchen tools, utensils, bowls and plates, and more. The range is old-fashioned but works perfectly.
- The gym is amazing. The adults in our crew had a great time playing knockout and family dodgeball after the kids were asleep, and the toddlers loved running around. It really makes the whole place stand out.
- The main eating/gathering area is spacious and well equipped. The many board games are great, the stage was fun for activities we had planned, and the TV was modern enough to hook up to our devices. We moved couches from the bedrooms, and it was a perfect gathering place.
- The covered area between the gym and the main schoolhouse facilitated staging activities and loading cars very well.
We loved this location and can't recommend it enough!

This property was so awesome! A converted schoolhouse from the last century? Yes, please!
We were in the area for the Mt Rainier half marathon. There was 19 of us, mostly teenage boys plus chaperones. This house was perfect. They had a great time exploring the house, writing on the chalkboards, we played hide-and-seek in the dark and had a death match of dodgeball in the gym.
We had such a blast in this home. Perfect for big groups.

The School House was just as it was listed. Perfect place for our family, the kids had a blast in the gym and come to find out dodge balls and basketballs were there ready for play. Had some deer on the property daily which was an added bonus. Adults played card games on the ample table space and stayed up late telling stories. Only cons were the smell of propane at the stove which was noted on instructions but we ended up keeping kitchen door open most of the time because we were cautious. The kayaks were stored in an area where birds frequently nested and the group didn't want to mess around with cleaning them to take them to the lake. Storing those somewhere where the remain clean would be an improvement. The cute little red bench in the front of the house had a rotted leg/peg that broke free of its repair when grandpa sat in it but he was not hurt! Might have been more for decoration, which could be our bad. Don't let the cons scare you away we would stay here again if we are invited back, lots of space for our family and we all loved it! Great memories!
