About this property

Dog-Friendly Glamping Dome for 4 · Private Copse · Walk to Blue Anchor Beach

  • A geodesic dome in its own enclosed woodland copse at Blue Anchor, with a king-size bed, a stream along the edge, and a firepit under the trees. Ten minutes on foot from a dog-friendly beach. Sleeps up to 4, best for couples glamping, with room for families or walkers.

    At a glance
    • Sleeps 4 across 1 bedroom (the dome)
    • King bed in the dome, plus camp beds for up to 4 (bring your own bedding for the extra beds)
    • 1 bathroom: outdoor horse-box shower and separate composting toilet
    • On the edge of a working farm at Blue Anchor, between Exmoor and the sea
    • Blue Anchor Beach around 10 minutes` walk
    • Free parking on site, 2 spaces just outside or inside the gates
    • Step-free, ground-floor access to the dome
    • Check-in from 2pm, check-out by 10am

A Home to Relax and Unwind
The dome sits on its own raised deck with a curved glass wall that opens onto the trees and fields beyond, so you can lie in the king-size bed and watch the light change. Fairy lights and candles take over in the evening, and the firepit is there for a slow campfire as the sun goes down. Room-darkening blinds mean you can sleep in.

    The Layout
    • Bedroom 1: The geodesic dome, furnished with a king-size bed, tables and chairs, coat-hanging space, fairy lights and candles. Heating and air conditioning. Camp beds can be added to sleep up to 4, though bedding for the extra beds needs to be brought by guests.

    • Kitchen: An outdoor kitchenette housed in a modified horse box, with a small fridge freezer, kettle and cooking basics. A separate stretch of decking is set up for morning coffee.

    • Bathroom: Outdoor and separate from the dome. A quirky, deliberately rustic horse-box shower with an attached cold-water sink for washing up, plus a clean composting toilet. Both cleaned twice daily, with the frequency reducible on request for more privacy.

    • Outdoor space: Exclusive use of the enclosed copse with a stream running along the edge. A firepit, BBQ facilities, and a separate covered seating and dining area away from the dome.

    Location
Blue Anchor sits on the Somerset coast, tucked between the moorland of Exmoor and the sea, on the edge of a farm that dates back to the 1400s. The beach, the heritage railway and a couple of dog-friendly places to eat are all within an easy walk, with Dunster and Watchet a short drive inland.

    • Blue Anchor Beach, sand and shingle, fossil hunting, dog-friendly, around 10 min walk or 2 min drive
    • West Somerset Railway, England`s longest heritage line, Blue Anchor station about 10 min walk
    • Driftwood Café, 1930s beachside café known for breakfasts, fish and chips and cream teas, roughly 15 min walk or 2 min drive
    • The Smugglers Inn, traditional dog-friendly pub with home-cooked food and a beer garden, 15 to 20 min walk or 3 min drive
    • England Coast Path Blue Anchor to Dunster, a flat 2.6-mile shingle-beach walk from the seafront

    • Exmoor National Park, hiking, cycling and Exmoor ponies, edge around 15 min drive

Good to Know Before You Book
This is glamping, so it swaps conventional indoor comforts for coast and countryside. The bathroom facilities are outdoor and separate from the dome, with a cold-water-only sink at the shower and a composting toilet. The Hideaway sits on the edge of a working farm, so occasional farm traffic, animal movements and harvesting activity should be expected nearby; please keep clear of farm machinery and take care anywhere on the farm outside the Hideaway itself. Wood Lane is an unmade, unmarked farm track and is a little bumpy, so take it slowly. Access is via lockable double gates with a key provided, and there is a separate key for the dome. Lisa and John will meet you at the scullery on arrival and show you to the Hideaway.

    Extra charges
Dogs are welcome at £20 per pet per stay, up to a maximum of 2; please include them on your booking. Early check-in and late check-out may be available at £20 per hour, up to 2 hours, subject to availability. Additional friends and family can stay in their own tent at £5 per person, up to 8 extra people. These can be requested after booking through a secure third-party platform.

    Booking policy
Guests are not required to pay a security deposit for this stay, however, we reserve the right to charge up to £200 to the card on file in the case of any damage or excess mess. Please take care and tidy up after yourself during your stay.

Full payment is due 30 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the card on file. If payment fails, it must be completed within 24 hours or the booking will be cancelled. Early payment is allowed; card fees up to 3 percent are non-refundable if cancelled.

    Cancellation policy
Full refund if cancelled 30 or more days before arrival. Fifty percent refund if cancelled fourteen to thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled within fourteen days of arrival.

We really hope you come to love the Woodland Hideaway at Blue Anchor as much as we do. Any questions before you book, just send a message and we will be happy to help.

    Lisa & John
I will meet you when you arrive and show you to the accommodation; full directions will be sent before your stay.

    • Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome; please keep them with you, never leave them unattended, and pick up after them, doing a final check before you leave. Please include any dogs on your booking.
    • No parties or events.
    • No smoking inside any of the enclosures. If you smoke in the open, please put cigarette ends and vaping material in the bins or take them home.
    • The BBQ is yours to enjoy; please make sure it is fully out and cool before disposing of it or leaving it unattended.
    • The Hideaway sits on the edge of a working farm, so occasional farm traffic, animal movements and harvesting activity should be expected. For your safety, please keep clear of farm machinery and take care anywhere on the farm outside the Hideaway itself.
    • The double gates lock with the key provided, and there is a separate key for the dome. Please keep both secure during your stay.

Maximum 4 guests; the listed capacity is the absolute limit and includes any visitors.

Please treat the space with care and leave it as you would hope to find it.

Any questions before or during your stay, just send a message and I will be happy to help.
