"Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. The two most basic things you need are the ability to sleep well and shower the next morning, but sadly this didn’t deliver on either. The first warning sign was the earplugs that we found next to the bed when we arrived, which we had to use when the pub downstairs had a lockin until 12.30am. Then, next morning the electric shower managed warm water for one of us but then produced no hot water after that. And going down to the bar to raise these concerns before check out there was only the chef around, so we just decided to leave. It was a shame because the food in the pub was great and it’s in a good location. But the rooms are very basic and tired, and the reality for us was very different to all of these overwhelmingly positive reviews. "
