Hotel Adler

Hotel Adler

10/10 Excellent
"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmerā€™s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Milbitz?
The best area to stay in Milbitz is the town centre, particularly around MarktstraƟe and Kirchplatz.

This area is the heart of Milbitz, centred around the historic market square and the impressive St. Michaelis Church. You'll find a selection of traditional guesthouses and local restaurants here, offering a genuine taste of Thuringian hospitality. The streets are pedestrian-friendly, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find the town centre particularly appealing. It offers a quaint setting for strolls, with easy access to local shops and cafes. The evening atmosphere is pleasant, great for enjoying a quiet dinner.

For those interested in exploring the surrounding Thuringian countryside, staying slightly outside the immediate town centre, perhaps along the roads leading towards the Milbitzer Wald, can provide a more secluded experience with excellent access to walking and cycling paths.
When is the best time to go to Milbitz?
The best time to visit Milbitz is during the late spring and early autumn months.

May and June offer pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 15Ā°C to 20Ā°C, and the countryside is lush and green. This period is ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling through the Thuringian Forest, as the weather is generally dry and comfortable. It's also a good time to visit the nearby historic towns and castles without the peak summer crowds.

September and October provide a beautiful autumnal landscape, with average temperatures between 10Ā°C and 15Ā°C. The changing leaves create a picturesque backdrop for exploring the region. This time of year is excellent for those who appreciate scenic drives and cultural excursions, as many local festivals celebrating harvest and wine occur.
