"The check-in left me at the gate for 1.5 hours when the key code was not working. It took a while to reach someone on the contact numbers. On day 2 the key code for the main house was not working. It took even longer to get someone on the phone but they were unable to get assistance for 3 hours. I was between the door and my car for 3.45 hours. The temperature was a cold 41 degrees This ruined what would have been a good stay."

The property is a cat sanctuary as well, though they all remain outside and are extremely friendly! We woke up to the sounds of bells on goats/cows every morning roaming in the mountains. "This quaint, beautiful property overlooking the Douro River was breathtaking! In the 'valley of the wolf', the vantage point of the valley was amazing and beyond peaceful. The room was cozy, balcony shared but not intrusive, inclusive breakfast was delicious and the 'honor system' for drinks made you feel like home! It was a perfect stay for our all-go time tasting port. The village was charming as well."
