This hotel in the Douro Valley was a complete surprise-breathtaking scenery all around with walking access to the vineyards. It had a beautiful chapel onsite and indoor sauna and steam room as well as small indoor and outdoor rooftop pools. Amazing!

Amazing hotel and views -the location is unbeatable, the pool and property is amazing, in fact none of the pictures proves justice, this is an amazing hotel with lots to offers…. A car is required to get to the hotel, although I didn’t partake in any of the spa it did look amazing - the pool and the drinks are amazing - the breakfast is amazing where you can sit on the terrace - the restaurant offers good food although I thought it was a bit too much and overly fancy for nothing - and the taste wasn’t really there. We absolutely loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and had an incredible view. We also had the pleasure of attending the wine and Port tasting, which was such a wonderful experience. The presenter was engaging, passionate, and truly captivating, making the tasting both fun and fascinating. The rooftop terrace and pool were absolutely amazing and felt incredibly luxurious. The breathtaking views made it even more special! We also took some time to enjoy the hotel’s wonderful spa, which offers a wide range of services. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and offered a great variety of choices. We also took a lovely walk around the property, and the grounds were simply beautiful and peaceful. Every part of our stay was memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and would happily come back again. An absolutely wonderful experience!

Perfect location for a stay in the Douro valley. Relatively new hotel with clean cozy rooms and amazing views especially from the pool. More hanging options for the towels next to the shower would be a helpful adjustment. For not single use room lack of privacy when using the bathroom.

Views from this property were breathtaking! Hotel is brand new and immaculate. Staff was friendly bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were on the small side. There is no gym at the facility although there is a lovely spa. Location was great to explore the Quinta’s and vineyards of the Duro Valley. You do need a car or driver as uber is not easy to get.

Escolhemos a Quinta do Barrilário para comemorar nosso aniversário de casamento e foi perfeito! A equipe muito atenciosa e sempre querendo ajudar. A comida é impecável, desde o pequeno almoço ao jantar. O SPA é uma ótima opção de relaxamento. O quarto é ótimo, muito bem equipado, de bom gosto. A Prova de vinho foi muito divertida. Tudo isso é cercado de uma vista deslumbrante e uma paz que faz bem ao coração. Recomendo mil vezes!
