"A very warm welcome on arrival, with a clear explanation given of things that we needed to know. Help offered with bags and an escort given to our more than pleasant booked room (Cathedral View). Facilities in room all that one might require, and with a comfortable bed. Very tasty breakfast options available from 07:30 am with a range of beverages. An easy check out procedure on departure. One thing that has to be said is that my partner and I found the room somewhat over warm through the night, despite the fact that we had turned off the radiator. A reason that occurred to us was that with the room being at the top of the property, perhaps it was a case of all the heat from below rising. Overall though, very highly recommended. "

"The hotel building is fantastic. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely although I did have to request some extra lighting which was brought to us with half an hour. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. Excellent stay."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionist had booked guests in a million times and was very efficient. The young waitress who served me was originally from Kent and l recognised her accent from coming from where l used to live. My room 101 was a nice location, full view of the Scotch Corner roundabout and could see the snow and when it was clear so l could get on my way to continue my journey to Scotland. It really is in a fantastic location. Breakfast was good the chef made the best porridge in the North East so he tells me. "
