The best area to stay in Mezguita is generally within the kasbahs and guesthouses located near the Oued Drâa, particularly those offering views of the palm groves.

This area provides an authentic experience, with accommodations often built in the traditional kasbah style. You'll find yourself surrounded by the natural beauty of the Drâa Valley, with the river and extensive palm groves creating a tranquil backdrop. Many guesthouses are situated along the tracks leading off the main N9 road, offering a sense of seclusion while still being accessible.

For couples seeking a romantic and peaceful escape, staying in one of the boutique guesthouses located within the palm groves is ideal. These places often feature serene courtyards, traditional Moroccan décor, and opportunities for quiet strolls through the date palms.

Families will also find this area suitable, especially guesthouses with larger rooms or interconnected suites.

The best time to visit Mezguita is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) when the weather is most pleasant.

During these months, the temperatures are moderate, making it comfortable for exploring the area's natural beauty and historical sites. You'll find warm, sunny days without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. This allows for enjoyable excursions into the surrounding desert landscapes and relaxed visits to local kasbahs.

For couples seeking a romantic and comfortable getaway, these shoulder seasons are ideal. The milder weather makes outdoor activities, such as camel trekking or exploring the date palm groves, much more enjoyable. You can also comfortably dine outdoors in the evenings, soaking in the peaceful ambience of the region.

Solo travellers will also appreciate the comfortable conditions for exploring independently.
