This is an old basic hotel, clean, safe easy access to everything. It’s an easy walk to great food local history and transportation to other areas.

Stay here often, great location, cozy

I live an hour away from Hotel Colon and often stay there when I visit the city. Great location, the spectacular Kavia hotel line of sheets & towels. They have a little spot to get breakfast and a huge pool.

The property is in great location. The rooms are super clean and the housekeeping people are very friendly. The rooms has a light saver on top of the door. Light from the aisle don’t let you sleep.

Very old building, very old rooms, very dirty, restaurant mot working all day, pool dirt and bad customer service. The only good thing is that is very close to Plaza Grande

The hotel is right in the heart of the city. Just a few blocks in any direction will keep you busy day and night. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to provide good service. The hotel is obviously old, but that is part of its’ charm. It is historic and culturally grand, and they keep it in decent condition. But if you are looking for modern perfection, then go stay at the Hilton. I prefer to be where the people treat you like you are part of the family.

This property is very charming and the staff where great especially Ricardo! What I did not like about this property is the safety of the room. The one lock on the inside was a rusty old chain that was screwed into the wood trim of the wall. I could have ripped it off myself. I saw the neighboring room and the lock was the same. I think Kavia hotels should step it up a notch or two in that regard! This hotel was also very noisy. I think all inner courtyard hotels in the area are noisy as any noise echoes through the halls. It adds to the charm but bring ear plugs or expect a number of wake ups.

Never stay here or use Hotels.com again

I booked online and when I came they did not find my booking. Even if I showed them my reservation they said they could not do anything. I’ve been in contact with Hostels.com about me having to go to another much more expensive hotel and stay there. When they try to reach the hotel they just say that the hotel don’t answer and they can’t do anything. Just ridiculous way of handling a customer using their service for 12 years.
