We had such a good time at the CMA 50th Anniversary International Changing of the Colors. We were double blessed at being able to take our granddaughters and finding such excellent accommodations. We didn’t have time to use the hot tube but we did enjoy a morning and evening trip to the lake. The communication with the host was excellent.
The property and home was clean, quiet, and perfect for an restful time to bring our stress levels down and the scenic fall foliage was good as well.
We will return to this property. Thank you, The Mason's

Amazing Experience!
The cottage was better than most five star hotels that I have stayed in! You get the great beauty of the Arkansas mountains with excellent facilities in the quiet country setting. Mena is right up the road for easy access to restaurants as well as other Arkansas attractions in the area. I could tell that a lot of hard work and custom planning took place in building these cottages. Definitely plan on being an annual visitor if not more!

Excellence all over!
We stayed in the white house cottage! Beautiful, well equipped, peaceful, and amazing. Michael went the extra mile in every way to make sure our stay would be better than we could imagine. He did that! Even the smallest of problems were dealt with professionally and quickly! You must stay here!

Fabulous country cottage
Fabulous country cottage. Perfect size and very well equipped. Modern amenities and beautifully decorated. Perfect location just a few miles south of Mena. Wonderful property with beautiful views. Loved the rocking chairs on the wrap around porch, as well as the outdoor table and chairs on the back patio. While we where there we enjoyed the remote gas fireplace. We cooked several meals in the kitchen. Beds where super comfy and the quality of the linens were luxurious.
We can't wait to come back.

Perfect cottage for a weekend getaway!
We loved our stay at the white cottage!! Michael was great & the house was easy to access.
The house was decorated so cute for Christmas & overall decor is perfect - exactly what you see in the pictures! Beds are comfy, great linens, and it had everything we needed to cook & eat at the house our entire stay. It was cold when we went so we weren't able to enjoy the porches as much as we would have liked but I would have loved to spend more time there - it was so inviting! Will definitely be back if we're ever around Mena again.

Beautiful cottage for a long autumn weekend!
We can't say enough good things about our trip to Mena. We're from Austin and had never been to Arkansas before. We came for a long fall weekend to see fall color and enjoy the mountains. It was exactly what we'd hoped for. The cottage was perfect for our family of 4. We want to come back with extended family and rent all 3 cottages. The decor is perfect and comfortable. We loved the porches and rocking chairs. So many trees and the views are beautiful. It was hard to leave. Our kids are 3 1/2 & 6, and we were a little worried about the stairs to their bedroom, but the stairs were completely lit at night and safe. We brought the kids' bikes and they rode around the long paved driveways. The owners were friendly and helpful when booking, and since we had everything we needed while there, we never had to contact them during our stay.
Here's what we did in Mena:
*Drive the Talimena scenic byway up to Queen Wilhelmina State Park. Pretty drive with lots of vistas. The park was great to spend a couple hours. There's a lodge with a small restaurant. We did the Lovers Leap hiking trail (1 mile loop) and then did the Miniature train with the kids. The train opens at 10am even on Sunday. There's also a huge black steam engine that you can get on for photos.
*Rent an ATV! It was awesome! We rented a 4 seater Polaris from Hawk's Overlook. The owner, Kevin was super friendly and accommodating. He gave us a map and showed us all the trails to take. He also let us use an air hose to blow off dust after our day. We packed a picnic and spent 7 hours out in the Wolf Pen gap trail area in the middle of the national forest. We visited Little Missouri Falls and picnicked there. There are places to swim if you bring swimsuits and Keens. It was our first ATV experience: we brought bike helmets for the kids and sunglasses. Wish we'd had bandanas for our faces-maybe even ski goggles/dust masks if you have them. Bring water and towels/wipes to clean off. We've never been so dirty.
*We cooked all our meals except one breakfast and dinner. We ate a nice, smalltown Southern/steak dinner at The Branding Iron--good margaritas. We ate breakfast at Skyline Cafe--your normal diner fare, inexpensive and friendly staff. The grocery store in Mena had the basics and a nice lunchmeat counter with Boar's Head meats.
*There looked to be a couple cute antique/art shops in Mena, but we didn't go into any of them.
Seven hours from Austin for a real taste of Fall?...We'll be back next year!
Had a great, relaxing stay at the Rose Cottage. The place was very homey and even had Christmas decorations, also very clean. We celebrated our first year anniversary here, and couldn’t be more happier, place is a must stay place. Also hot tub is really nice bonus. Owners were also very responsive and helpful.
I highly recommend staying at the Rose Cottage. I read the previous reviews and agree 100%, that it’s a beautiful place to stay. The beds and pillows and both beds, made me feel like I was at home!! We go to Mena every year for our CMA event and this place will be our go to. It’s about 10 mins from Iron Mountain as well as 15 to Hatfield for their famous gas station pie!! Can’t wait to book again for next year!!
We took our two teens. It was perfect. The cabin was cozy and the beds/pillows were so amazing we went the store downtown and bought the pillows! The trails were gorgeous and we had them almost to ourselves. The communication with the owner was outstanding. We will be back. We highly recommend taking a day to visit downtown Mena!
We really enjoyed our cabin and surrounding area. The grounds were exceptionally clean and well organized. Overall highly recommend staying here. Beautiful country side and lots of great memories.
My husband and I took our three kids here and we couldn't have had a better time! The location was perfect, we had great access to some of the surrounding national forests for hiking and having the lake nearby was a big win as well! The kids didn't want to leave! We'll be back again for sure!
