About this property

Panoramic views - outdoor bathhouse - walk to town

  • Floor-to-ceiling glass, a wraparound deck with panoramic views over the valley, and a brand new rustic outdoor bathhouse with a two-person tub. Soak under the stars where only the koalas can see you. Warm up by the indoor fireplaces or around the purpose-built fire-pit, ride the trails at lunch, or work midweek with the bush out the window. Feels completely secluded, yet it's a short walk to the pub, cafes and the MTB shuttle.

    SECLUDED, WITHOUT THE LONG DRIVE

Sunset View House sits on 3,000m² of Warburton bushland — open to the valley on one side, screened by trees on the other. The trick of the place is that it feels completely private (deer on the grass, koalas in the gums), yet you're a 300m stroll to the Alpine Hotel, 350m to the MTB shuttle, and a five-minute walk into town for coffee and breakfast. Seclusion without the isolation.

    BUILT AROUND THE VIEW

Inside it's open-plan and oriented to the outlook: floor-to-ceiling windows pull the valley into the living room, so whether you're cooking, on the sofa, or sunk into a leather armchair by the fire, the view follows you. In warmer months the deck is the heart of the house — huge, with room to eat, lounge, and watch the light move down the valley.

    THE BATHHOUSE

Beneath the deck, a deep two-person tub and a rain shower sit within their own timber bathhouse. It's fully enclosed, so it's complete privacy: close the gate and soak under the open sky and the stars, or swing it open for the whole valley laid out in front of you. Only the koalas can see in.

    THE FIRE PIT

The fire pit is a feature in its own right — not a barrel on the lawn, but a purpose-built setting terraced into the slope just below the deck, with comfortable built-in seating wrapped around it and room for the whole group to settle in. Light it as the sun drops behind the mountain and the valley turns gold.

And this is where being a short walk from town earns its keep: wander down to the Alpine Hotel or into town for a gourmet dinner and a few drinks, then stroll home — no car, no taxi — to a soak in the bathhouse under the stars, or a nightcap around the fire. Dinner out, indulgence at home.

    COSY WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS

When it's cold the house turns inward: two indoor fireplaces and deep leather armchairs make it a genuine winter retreat. Summer is the deck, the bathhouse and the fire pit; winter is the fires, the armchairs, and the valley framed by the windows. A place that works in every season, not just the warm one.

    SET UP TO WORK FROM

There's a proper dedicated workspace here — a real desk, a monitor and a second screen — not a laptop balanced on the dining table. Midweek is the quiet, well-priced way to stay: the weekday rate sits well below the weekend, which makes a few days working from the valley an easy call. Take your calls with the gums out the window, ride the Trail or walk the river at lunch, and finish the day in the bathhouse. The wifi is reliable and well-suited to video calls and remote work.

    THE PRACTICAL BITS

Sleeps six across two bedrooms — a queen and two sets of bunks (four singles) — with one indoor bathroom plus the outdoor bathhouse. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper cooking, there's a BBQ on the deck, laundry on-site, and easy self-check-in. Room for several cars, two of them undercover.

    THE LOCALS

Bring a little patience and you'll be rewarded: we've counted up to eleven deer grazing at once, along with koalas, kookaburras and parrots.

A pet-free home, to protect the local wildlife. Property access is not suitable for caravans.
