Cozy & Small Guest House Near Calabogie
This is a super cute guest house located beside our family home. We are located in a nice quiet neighbourhood with very few neighbours. The house has a very private deck, as well as some semi private lawn space. A BBQ is included on the deck.
Inside, the unit is heated with a gas fireplace, and has a brand new AC installed summer 2025. The kitchen includes a full gas stove, a small counter top convection oven, and a full size fridge. And the kitchen is fully stocked, with tools, utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, and mugs. The house is open plan since it is technically a "tiny home". Our property is a small homestead, where we keep chickens that produce eggs, which are available for purchase for $5/dozen. We sell them at a stand on our driveway, but guests can also ask us directly!
Guests have access to a large private deck that walks out from the unit's kitchen. There is also a sizable amount of lawn space between the main house and the guest house, that is not used by the hosts while guests are present. The guests will also have parking spaces that is shared with the hosts.
Located in Braeside it is just a 30 minute drive to Calabogie Peaks Resort, a 7 minute drive to Arnprior, and a 15 minute drive to Renfrew. Within the area there is great hiking, fishing, and skiing. And just a few minutes away is the gorgeous, quiet, and secluded Braeside Beach.
The guest house is perfect for a solo stay or a peaceful place for a couple to stay. We don't have any baby amenities, but if you are bringing your own crib etc, babies are welcome.
All pets are welcome, but we do ask that you clean up after them. We are happy to have your pup friend join you, as long as they can stay leashed on the property so that they don't frighten our chickens!
We are located on a hillside, and as such unfortunately the guest house is not wheelchair accessible. There is a staircase up from the parking area to the guest house, so please make sure you are comfortable with stairs before booking.

We really enjoyed our stay!! Our cabin/bunkie was so tranquil & relaxing with all the amenities and more that were advertised. Our hosts made us feel so welcome!! We explored the nearby towns & visited family and enjoyed the warmth of our cozy 4 day get away🌈☺️
Such a cute little place--perfect for a little quiet getaway for a few days for me and my dog. Spent a ton of time reading on the back deck in utter peace.
Loved this stay. It was perfect for a romantic couples weekend away. Nature, fishing and quiet time together. A very peaceful place. Will be back without a doubt

Lots of things to use in the kitchen. Balcony was a great spot to rest on. Did what we needed it to which was a place to stay whilst breaking up a long drive.
From when I checked in to when I left I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The space was lovely! I really liked that the kitchen/dining room area was separate from the livingroom/sleeping area. The place was very clean and tidy. I spent tbe majorly of my stay around the Arnprior area, so the location was perfect. And the view!!!!! The Ottawa river never fails to impress, and the leaves changing colour made it that much better! I would happily recommend the space to anyone i know.

We absolutely love this quaint little gem! The host emailed very clear instructions and had a binder that had things to do in the area. We ended up going to the Sand Point Lighthouse which is only a 2 minute drive down the road and we had ourselves a lovely sunset paddle. The cabin was small, but still comfortable. Still big enough to be a functional space for the two of us. Honestly, we had a hard time leaving on the last day. We can't wait to book this spot again.
If I had to find a criticism...and I would have had to look I would say the bathroom door doesn't close properly. Other than that. I had a great stay. The area is beautiful and quiet as is the VRBO. We will be back.
Took a road trip from Whitby to Ottawa area to chase waterfalls and locks!! Needed a place to lay our heads for the night and this was the perfect spot.
The site location and facility met our needs perfectly. We had a commitment near Ottawa but didn't want to stay in the city. It was close to 417 so we could get to where we wanted to go very readily
My wife and I had a very enjoyable 3-night experience at this tiny house/cottage. It's a couple minute drive from a small quiet beach on the Ottawa River and there are many good places to hike in the area. And to have fresh eggs from their chickens was great!
We had a lovely time at this little place! It had everything you might want for a couple days away from home. Pretty property. Comfy bed. Roku TV, gorgeous appliances & quality cookware. BBQ too!

Very quiet area out of the city and next to the scenic and serene waters of the river. The property had everything I needed, and the perfect size for one or two people.
Fist of all we only learn about the stair in front of the cabin just before we got there( 16 steps ) than you are at the cabin, this is not bad providing you are in great shape not so good when you are 78 years old & you are handicap. Well we did it . The gas thank on the BBG was left on, so I turn it off& the crank on the right side window was broken, but I manage to close the window. In all, this cabin was very clean & the view was superb. Thank You.
