The Rhino staff were so kind and thoughtful towards us. Reception, cleaning staff, waiters in the restaurant. Very professional! We have tried four other hotels in Senegal and the Rhino is at the top of our list of "must return to" places. The breakfast is nice. Be aware that you can order fresh juices and eggs any style in addition to what's on the buffet, all at no added cost. We chose the "bed & breakfast" option and are glad we did.
The room was big and very clean. The hotel is very well designed and uses tasteful decor and furnishings. It is low season at this tie, so we had the pool to ourselves. Good WiFi on the property, including in the room. Not much within walking distance to see, however. The dust storm in Senegal this week caused the whole town to feel dirty, but the Rhino staff tried to keep our place clean. Well done staff!
For low cost local food, Le New Riv out the main door, turn left, then right onto the main street, offers excellent value for brochette poulet (chicken kabob).
We will gladly return to the Rhino and highly recommend it as a decent place to stay if you're okay with a slightly higher priced hotel.
