What a big disappointment it was!!! I go to Saly twice a year. We usually stay at Royam Hotel. This time we decided to give Rhino a chance because their website description of the hotel is very appealing. For instance I wanted to take advantage of the hot tub they advertised but actually do not have. The worst part is that I got food poisoning after eating their breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs which were very wet. On Sunday I waited for over 15 minutes for a cup and a mug in order to pour some coffee and some orange juice. I eventually gave up on the orange juice. I was not the only one. Besides they are very expensive.

The staff at the parking and reception were very helpful. Unfortunately the food could be a lot better and the condition of the rooms can also be improved

On a passer une excellente séjour là-bas surtout avec Coumba elle est dans spa et Ablaye au bar on a beaucoup aimé sauf le restaurant leur cuisine sincèrement on a pas aimé c’est à améliorer

The Rhino Resort & Spa is a beautiful property with friendly staff. The rooms and pools are top of the line that include a separate bath, shower and toilet. It was quiet and peaceful. I will return for another visit.

My bed had both live and dead bugs in it at check. I asked to have new bedding put on the bed and hotel staff refused. I was told that the bugs were coming from the thatched roof ceiling. Bathroom fixtures were old and some broken like the paper towel holder. Expensive and not with the money. Keys did not work after one days stay and a staff member very easily broke into the room with a screw driver making us feel very unsafe about the security of the room.

I find this to be more of a 3.5 star hotel at the most. Some TLC needed in the rooms. Found the shower floor not to be very clean, the same with the basins that need a good scrub to clear of the scale build up. Pillows need immediate replacement.

Good but not 5* quality all-round
A very nice 5* hotel with very friendly staff. Very nice large room, with both a shower and a bath and a great big TV. A deep pool for swimming laps would be good as the pools they have are shallow or not suitable for swimming laps. The gym is pretty basic, but ok. The buffet breakfast is good, though a bit of variety with the cooked food would be good as it's the same day after day. The restaurant is ok, good service but average food. The menu sounds great but the quality of the dishes and the ability of the chefs are lacking. Spaghetti bolognaise swimming in oil and overcooked tomato sauce making it black, or red. Lamb with sliced potatoes, the potatoes were almost raw and both the lamb and the potatoes had too much sauce over them. Apart from those issues, it's a good hotel to stay at.

Des chambres jolies mais une qualité abominable. Des puces dans le lit. Qui nous ont mordu tout le corps. On a du changer de chambre en plein milieu de la nuit. Des cheveux dans les serviettes dans la salle de bain , qui plus est sont d’un état piteux on dirait que ça n’a pas été changé depuis 10 ans (faudrait penser à les changer de même que les draps ) pas de mini bar. En plus de cela quand on les as contacté le matin pour nous plaindre elle a été super condescendante et désagréable. Service client donc est zéro à l’accueil. Seul les employés du restaurant sont sympathiques et à l’écoute. L’hôtel n’est plus ce qu’il était. Très déçue et je ne recommande cette hôtel à personne.

This hotel in my opinion should not be rated 5 star it should be 4 at best. the rooms were very dusty and dated. There were so many mosquitos I was bitten every inch of my body. The staff was not that helpful and when I asked for help they always gave me a reluctant look to help.

Best choice for us in Saly for privacy and comfort
The Rhino staff were so kind and thoughtful towards us. Reception, cleaning staff, waiters in the restaurant. Very professional! We have tried four other hotels in Senegal and the Rhino is at the top of our list of "must return to" places. The breakfast is nice. Be aware that you can order fresh juices and eggs any style in addition to what's on the buffet, all at no added cost. We chose the "bed & breakfast" option and are glad we did. The room was big and very clean. The hotel is very well designed and uses tasteful decor and furnishings. It is low season at this tie, so we had the pool to ourselves. Good WiFi on the property, including in the room. Not much within walking distance to see, however. The dust storm in Senegal this week caused the whole town to feel dirty, but the Rhino staff tried to keep our place clean. Well done staff! For low cost local food, Le New Riv out the main door, turn left, then right onto the main street, offers excellent value for brochette poulet (chicken kabob). We will gladly return to the Rhino and highly recommend it as a decent place to stay if you're okay with a slightly higher priced hotel.

Quaint boutique style - clean and well maintained. The challenge is with the staff. Most seem committed and trying to keep with hotel image. But a few spoil it - too much talking amongst themselves.. hanging out; not answering guest a questions or attentive to service. The beahavoiur of staff are even more important than their nice uniforms. Rhino still needs work on this area.

Nice Hotel but not on the Ocean
On our first outing in Senegal we wanted to try the beach but to our surprise the Hotel was not even close to the beach. Apart from that the hotel is very nice, staff friendly and nice atmosphere.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was wonderful. Everything was top notch and it was the perfect setting for a romantic get away. My only complaint is that there was only one restaurant to choose from. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay here and would go back given the chance.

Beautiful quiet hotel
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The property is very pretty and the staff are great. The spa was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others, especially ones coming for a quite romantic getaway or a business meeting. We came with our 5 year old daughter so it was rather boring for us. The food was Ok, definitely not 5 star. Lot's of things on the menu were not available. Some simple things like sandwiches were not very good at all. On the other hand, the grilled lobster was excellent, but it was as add on item at 8 euros extra.

We loved our stay at this hotel on May 2013. It was quiet, nice, clean & comfortable. The staff was very pleasant. The only thing I'm not recommending is the restaurant, the food was not delicious but just ok. Also the beach is not very close (approx. 5 min by car) but that was no problem for us.

Incredible Senegal Property
Over the top service, grounds & room. I don't think you can find much better than this in Senegal. Not on the water, but the grounds, pools & spa were so over the top lovely, we weren't as interested in the beach. Amazing Spa (waterfalls, tubs, etc.). Had excellent massage. Highly Recommend. Lots of cafes, shops in walking distance. Saly is a lovely coastal down.

Beautiful Hotel
This is actually the second time I have stayed at this hotel, it is fabulous! The facilities are beautiful and very well done, the staff is fantastic, the rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. This was a welcome place to stay after traveling in Senegal for a few weeks.

2 Days of relaxing bliss
We had a two day break at the Rhino as part of our 12 day stay in senegal most of which was spent in Dakar. I have to say the service by the staff team at the Rhino was fabulous we indulged in the spa facilities and found the amenities perfect as an aid to help us unwind from the frenetic pace of Dakar.

Excellent service, well trained staff. The Spa is a must. Location is highly recommended for relaxing, a break from hectic city life. Hotel has a good manageable size that allow personnal service. Suggest details os spa treatments to be made available.
