"Excellent stay "

"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Desk staff was very friendly. Bartender was very helpful with my dinner arrangements. Only complaint is valet staff. He readjusted my car seat and steering wheel and did not put it back. Also kept walking behind me when i said i was fine to ask me to write a review. Actually asked me to get my phone out to do it right then. "

"Classic historical hotel. Recommend staying in the garden area in spring. Very nice staff. Adorable cat Annabelle greets you in the lobby. Safe location. Bed was very comfortable. "

"Overall really liked the hotel. Fun decor and art, loved the toiletries in the bathroom, bed was clean and comfortable. A couple of times the staff was a little less than friendly, and we had a cold shower one morning. But overall we enjoyed our stay!"

"No gym, property was under renovation was extremely loud couldn’t walk in front door. They ran out of WATER.Nothing upon check in was so bad had to leave a night early and stay at a Hilton do not stay here "

"The hotel could use a basic "refresh". While my room was a nice size, it was a bit run down and could use an overall upgrade. The staff was great - Shane is wonderful! I was not clear when housekeeping was to come. Towels were changed every day, but my bed was only made 1 out of the 3 days I was there. Good location. "

"Lovely pet-friendly home base for exploring Richmond! Everything we wanted to explore was within 10 minutes’ drive. The neighborhood is modest but people clearly take pride in their homes and community. We appreciated having separate rooms for ourselves and each of our two teens. Would stay here again!"

"My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room door would not close properly unless it was slammed, and the trim around the door was dirty and visibly falling apart. The $20+ buffet breakfast was completely unacceptable — poor quality and not worth the price. More concerning was the ongoing construction noise coming from the adjacent room, including drilling, grinding, and loud music. When I raised this with the front desk, I was repeatedly given inaccurate and dismissive explanations (cleaning staff, outside traffic, nearby construction), none of which aligned with what was clearly audible from within my room. I even asked staff to come to the room to verify the issue themselves, and no one ever showed up. Despite all of this, I was not offered a room change or any resolution. This level of service and lack of accountability is unacceptable. "
