We had an absolute wonderful stay. The house was perfect for our needs. I was impressed with the cleanliness as well as the overstock of items possibly needed. Would recommend to others and looking to stay again.
Very nice, quite country setting. So peaceful and loved seeing the deer roaming in the back yard. House was very cozy and the kids had fun playing ping pong.
We were staying in the area for a family reunion. It was perfect for me, my kids, my dad and my brother to stay. It was clean, spacious, meet our needs and we even enjoyed the bonfire pit one night! We will definitely come back in the future.
The house and the property were very clean and nicely kept. The views were great, wildlife everywhere! We really enjoyed the amount of bedrooms and space. We didnt have a single complaint! Very nice!
Very clean & well maintained house. Out in the country but easy to get to. Would recommend installing a large screen TV in the main floor living room for older adults to view. Leave the large screen TV in the basement for kids/ teenagers to enjoy and to keep out of parents hair. Would rent this property again next year if back in the area for a golfing weekend!!!
The house was great! The GPS got us a little lost, but we found the house finally. Everything was clean and super comfortable. Having a kitchen to cook in was such a bonus and saved us time and money. Close enough and far enough from everything.
This house was very comfortable and Lisa very welcoming. We were close to Bayfield and Washburn. The guys ride motorcycles and there was plenty of room for all on us and we could park the bikes in the garage.
Flew from West Coast to visit family. The Host was very helpful and quick to respond to our questions.
The 3.5 bathrooms were perfect for our group along with the washer and dryer. We loved the peace and quiet.
Enjoyed ping pong tournaments in the basement, and eating around the roomy dining table.
Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the fire pit!
The Aurora Borealis happened on our last night and we had an amazing view due to lack of city lights.
We will definitely stay in this house again!

The property fit our needs well. The beds we used were comfortable. Plenty of towels and supplies.
There were a fair number of Asian beetles, flies and spiders-this is most likely due to being in the woods. There were a few light bulbs out(master bedroom bath and garage door opener light and garage.
Nice to have access to a garage as our weather was rainy most days. About 40 minutes to Bayfield and about 20 minutes to Ashland.
Great Location, Host was Responsive and Informative
We stayed at this property with another couple and toured the area in our UTVs. We are nature enthusiasts and loved seeing all the deer and turkey in the backyard and the areas around the location. Before arriving, the hostess answered several questions with a lot of detail to ensure we were familiar with the area and had a great time. There are a lot of beautiful trails to ride on, along with several nice restaurants and bars. There was plenty of firewood and we enjoyed several bonfires. Top attractions we experienced: INO Bar, the Plywood Palace (best dive bar in Wisconsin), multiple trail rides including nightly wildlife rides, the diner for breakfast, the Benoit Cheese Haus, Cornucopia and Lake Superior. Overall we would definitely recommend a stay at "In the Middle Of". There is plenty of room for a large group in the house.
House was clean and well furnished. We had a great time.

The house was great and the area is amazing. Very quiet and peaceful with tons of wildlife. Saw so many deer - definitely keep your eyes open and follow the posted speed limit!
Property was perfect for our annual friend group golf trip. Property was clean, located in a quiet and peaceful location. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife in the back field after a long day of golf.
The property is perfect for a gathering of family or friends. A bounty of beds and bathrooms. Clean place with a nice basement area including a kitchenette and plenty of games. Firepit outside to give everyone the option of indoor or outdoor activities. Great communication and hassle-free stay.
My grandparents built this property in 1989 and sold it in the late nineties, to Brian and Teresa. My grandpa passed away 2 years ago, so when I stumbled upon the VRBO for the house he built, I knew we had to get the family together and see the house. Teresa and Brian were beyond gracious hosts and were so accommodating. I am so glad we were able to come together and enjoy the house “again” for a nice cookout. The house may be in the “middle of nowhere” but you’re in the countryside with tons of nature and beautiful scenery—if you’re looking for a place to decompress and relax, this house is perfect.. and don’t be fooled, there are TONS of options around the greater Bayfield and Ashland county area— you won’t be bored unless you want to be. Thank you so much again Brian & Teresa! I am sure we will be back again someday.
Great communication with owner! She made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay!
We skied in the Birkie so it was an easy drive south to Birkie Ridge parking with very little traffic vs. coming north from Hayward.
Beds are comfy with plenty of blankets to make it cozy. Kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep, layout of the home is accommodating for quiet times upstairs and fun game times down stairs with foosball and ping pong tables. Lots of space to spread out and relax!
Great spot for XC skiing & snowmobiling as there are lots of trails in the immediate areas.
We also took a day trip to Ashland and Bayfield. Need to return in the summer as those areas are amazing and they are just a short drive from the property.
This is a great property for a family/friends get-away adventure or gathering. Lots of space, super clean and makes you feel right at home!
