The very bright apartment is on the 2nd floor of an old Marseillais building on the Montée des Accoules. No elevator. It consists of a bedroom with a shower, a living room with a convertible futon sofa bed, an equipped kitchen, WC.

Live in the atypical Panier district while being close to the city center, old port, Musem .... Live in the heart of the famous Montée des Accoules. Have a drink on the Place de Lenche a stone's throw away and admire the good mother from there or stroll the fabulous batisse of the old charity at Place des Poles.
Finding yourself in the basket is like being in a village of Provence with authentic charm, forgetting to be in the city center of Marseille. A village still alive with its inhabitants from the different waves of immigration that the city has known.
The typical facades of the old buildings are colorful, the streets full of flowers, green thanks to the inhabitants attentive to the well being of their neighborhood. Street art is also well installed with beautiful frescoes on certain walls.

Great city break

The apartment was clean, charming and had all the amenities we needed for a weeklong stay in Marseille. The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful, as well as flexible, given that we encountered some difficulties on our trip. Despite the language barrier between us, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! The place is also situated right in the wonderful neighborhood of Le Panier, and a short walk from Vieux Port and Mucem, making it very convenient to go out to explore the beauty the city has to offer. I'll definitely see if I can book again next time we're in Marseille!

Patricia responded quickly to my initial enquiry and a week before my arrival date messaged me which was very reassuring and professional compared to other hosts. Patricia was away from Marseille on our arrival date and arranged for her friend, Jeanne, to meet us for check-in. I greatly appreciated meeting someone at a easy-to-find place close to the apartment who showed us where the apartment was. This is much better than struggling to find an address after a tiring journey. The apartment was 100% clean ( I am myself a host with high standards). A washing machine and proper oven and hob was important (we stayed 6 nights only a small rucksack; I have a gluten-free diet (coeliac).We next stayed in a hotel in Paris and greatly missed the kitchen and extra space of an apartment. We needed to print some rail tickets:Jeanne very kindly printed them.In reviews for other apartments I had read about personal safety (vehicle damage/ phones etc stolen in the streets) but Patricia had reassured me and we never felt unsafe. Excellent value transport network: E15.5 for week's pass on buses, metro,trams & on ferry shuttles to L'Estaque etc. (Take passport photos with you; buy at RTP offices around towns/metros - worth it if only a couple of days; ferry not incl on shorter passes). The transport app is great; apartment so conveniently located. Excellent home made beef/chicken/vegetarian? burger restaurant at bottom of steps near apartment GLUTEN FREE rolls available!!

Excellent location, wonderful stay
Great location and accommodation for two people in an excellent neighborhood near Place de Lenche (which we enjoyed immensely for food and drinks). Very close to the Old Port. In the spirit of full disclosure, the apartment is situated up two flights of stairs, which is manageable though. Very clean, and excellent communication with the landlord, Patricia. Enjoy!

Charming “village” location
Location is top! Winding narrow pathways adorned with potted plants, lots of nice restaurants in the square down steps from the apartment. Nice that owner left coffee for us to make and a bit of olive oil so we could cook on the kitchen. floor in apartment could be cleaner. Pretty basic studio otherwise but location is excellent with short walk to the vieux port.

Nice apartment in convenient location
The apartment is located close to the harbor, the MuCEM, and the Panier. It's a five-minute walk to a grocery store and 20 minutes to the train station. It's on a tiny side street that has steps and rarely any cars. It was still hot during our stay and we had to sleep with the windows open. We could faintly hear late-night diners at a nearby square and occasionally a loud group would pass under our window, but mostly it was not a problem. The bedroom is at the far end of the apartment, the windows at the other. There are powerful fans to help circulate the air. The bed is very comfortable. The futon bed should be fine for children, not so much for an adult. The kitchen has all the essentials, nice pots and dishes. The washing machine and drying rack are great for traveling light. Check-in was not until 5 pm, which was a little inconvenient. We found short-term luggage storage nearby.

Patricia was very welcoming and accomodating, she gave us lovely recomendations and made sure we were well looked after. The location is excelent, charming and right in the city center, close to everything. Highly recommend it!

A Gem in the Heart of Marseille
We really loved our stay in this VRBO. There was plenty of space and it was whimsically decorated. The location is a bit of a walk from the train station, but you are centrally located to all that Marseille has to offer. Patricia and her sister were very nice and gave us lots of information about sights to see. The kitchen was lovely and had everything we needed. We were able to do our laundry and then hang it out on the handy clothes line right outside. Thanks for a wonderful stay! :-)

fabulous HostThis darling apartment overlooks a school with laughing children that we found utterly charming during the day. The walk downhill opens to restaurants, groceries, pastries, and fruit plus a pharmacy. Only a few blocks more walk to the public transportation, the Port, and shopping. Bought a 3 day ticket and rode all over Marseilles. Every day of this trip was magic. Patricia does not speak English and yet provided us with all we needed to know. Fabulous Host and experience!

Our stay in Le Panier was splendid. The apartment is very clean and well-appointed. Although it is just a few steps from Place de Lenche, the district's main plaza, it is also quiet. And Patricia is a generous, knowledgeable host. Le Panier itself, while a tourist magnet, is full of local color. Its labyrinthine streets -- they are more like corridors -- invite exploration. There are a number of fine restaurants and shops nearby. And Place de Lenche has plenty to offer as well, including a diverse selection of eating and drinking establishments, some better than others. And the apartment is no more than a few minutes from the Old Port, the MuCEM and the Cathedrale La Major. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay, and no shortage of nearby attractions and activities to get us out and about. Notre séjour au Panier a été splendide. L'appartement est très propre et bien agencé. Bien qu'il ne soit qu'à quelques pas de la place de Lenche, la place principale du quartier, il est également calme. Et Patricia est une hôte généreuse. Le Panier lui-même, tout en étant un pôle d'attraction touristique, est plein de couleurs locales. Ses rues labyrinthiques - elles ressemblent davantage à des couloirs - invitent à l'exploration. Il y a un certain nombre de bons restaurants et magasins à proximité. Et la Place de Lenche a aussi beaucoup à offrir, y compris une sélection variée d'établissements pour manger et boire, bien que certains soient meilleurs que d'autres. Et l'appartement n'est qu'à quelques minutes du Vieux Port, du MuCEM et de la Cathédrale La Major. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons passé un séjour très agréable et les attractions et activités à proximité ne manquent pas pour nous déplacer.

Ideal Location
Great apartment. Patricia met us and reviewed everything. Very kind. The apartment was ideal for us with two sleeping areas so we could adjust to jet lag at our own pace. The only drawback is the two flights of stairs to get to the unit. And no air conditioning. It was the end of August so quite hot. But there were two fans and it cools down at night. The apartment is half a block off a square with several restaurant options. We tried two of them and both were delicious. Plus there is a tasty ice cream shop on the corner. We cooked in some and found two grocers within a block. So the location is ideal. You can easily walk to the Fort and several museums.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Marseille Appartement au calme très bien situé dans le fameux quartier du Panier. Proche du Mucem, vieux port, la vieille charité.. De tres bon restaurant autour de l’appartement Excellent contacte avec Patricia qui a été très arrangeante sur les horaires d’arrivée et de départ ainsi que de bons conseils. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir dans l’appartement de Patricia Je recommande à 100%!

La maison est située au milieu du quartier de panier. Et toutefois très calme. L'apartement est équipé de tout ce qu'il faut même pour un séjour un peu plus long. Et il est aménagé avec du goût. Le seul bémol: Il faut trouver un parking, est ce n'est pas facile. La proprio m'a recommandé à louer un parking - et c'était bon conseil. Moi, je reviens!

Perfect location and wonderful host
The apartment is very nice and comfortable, located in an old building at the very centre of the Panier, in a quiet and fascinating small street, with a view on a big tree, at 5 minutes walk from the ancient port and the Mucem. Patricia has been a wonderful host, very nice and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay here, and Marseille. Highly recommended.
