10/10 Excellent
"A beautiful and unique stay for our family. Stunning surrounds and so tranquil, with so many personal touches, the breakfast was fresh and tastey with plenty for us all. The book detailing the area and history was a great read and Andrew was happy to provide us with suggestions for places to see and local food options ans went out of his way to accommodate our sons love of animals. Great weekend break and I'm sure we barely touched the surface with what this place has to offer."

Tickles Cottage in a beautiful Rural Setting

Tickles Cottage in a beautiful Rural Setting

10/10 Excellent
"Such a lovely cottage in the best place, Mintaro. If you want peace and quiet, gorgeous surroundings this cottage is perfect. Lots of room and smells for my dog to explore. The house was so warm once we got the fire going, although there was other heating options if you wanted. The cottage was both welcoming and cosy. A very short distance to Mintaro and so close to the wineries of the Clare region. Communication with the host was very good. The house was spotless. Will definitely stay again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Marrabel?
The best area to stay in Marrabel is right within the town centre itself, as it's a small, welcoming community.Marrabel is a small rural town, so the "centre" refers to the handful of streets where the main amenities are located. You'll find the iconic Marrabel Hotel, a classic country pub, at its heart, often serving as a central meeting point. The surrounding area is characterised by open spaces and a relaxed pace of life, typical of the Mid North region of South Australia. For couples looking for a quiet escape, staying in Marrabel offers a chance to experience genuine country hospitality. You're perfectly positioned to explore the scenic drives through the Clare Valley wine region, which is just a short drive away. It's a great base for visiting local wineries and enjoying the peaceful rural landscape.Families will also find Marrabel a pleasant spot for a relaxed getaway. The wide-open spaces are ideal for children to enjoy, and the lack of hustle and bustle makes for a very calm environment.
When is the best time to go to Marrabel?
The best time to go to Marrabel really depends on what you're hoping to experience. If your primary interest is the Marrabel Rodeo, you'll want to plan your visit for the first weekend of October. This is when the town truly comes alive, with the rodeo being the main event drawing visitors from all over. Accommodation can book up quickly around this time, so it's wise to arrange things well in advance. For those looking for a quieter experience, perhaps to enjoy the scenic drive through the Mid North region and explore the surrounding agricultural landscapes, the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) are ideal.
