CHARMING OCEAN VIEW BEACH HOUSE MCA#496

  • FYI - 5/23/26 The lot next to our house was sold 2 years ago and we just learned that construction on new house may begin late August or early September, 2026. We hope that this will not be too much of an inconvenience to our Fall guests. Enjoy our ocean view home in beautiful Manzanita on the North Oregon Coast. Our comfortable home is perfect for a small family, three couples, a ladies' weekend or a romantic weekend for two. Our home is one and a half blocks from the ocean with direct beach access where you can stroll the magnificent seven mile beach. We also have a view of Neahkahnie Mountain looking north. Just walk across the street to tee off on picturesque Manzanita Golf Course, or bike to Nehalem State Park on one of our two bikes. Tennis, volleyball and playground are just a few blocks away at the City Park.

    Our fully equipped kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, skylight and river rock fireplace is on the upper level looking out to the ocean. The great room is surrounded by full length windows for amazing views. Relax on our large deck off the great room with a good book while enjoying a grand ocean view. The master bedroom (queen bed) with a large walk-in closet has a private deck and full bath with skylight. Our additional guest bath is also on upper level. The lower level has two bedrooms (one with queen bed, one with twin beds), full bath, and utility room. We have a barbecue and 4 Adirondack chairs on the large upper deck looking out to the ocean. Enjoy beautiful flowers on our deck during summer months.

    We are ten blocks to the main street of Manzanita where you will find wonderful restaurants, delightful gift and antique shops, wine bar, bookstore, 2 grocery stores, coffee shops, and bakery. Excellent crabbing in Nehalem Bay is just three miles away and you are welcome to take our crab pot with you. Sorry, we do not allow pets or smoking.

    We have Wi-Fi, a flat screen/cable TV, DVD player and a large selection of CDs as well as games, puzzles, beach toys, beach chairs and umbrella, port-a-crib and highchair.
    There is a smart TV in downstairs bedroom.

My adult daughter and I had a very quiet, relaxing time for our annual mother-daughter retreat. The house was extremely clean and so well decorated, you felt you were just visiting a friend instead of a vacation rental, and we will definitely return. (Just one thing, it has ice trays instead of an “ice maker”, so you may want to pick up a bag of ice if needed.)

Fantastic location and views

This is our fourth stay and we love it every time. Great view that allows you to enjoy the ocean even when relaxing at the house. Perfect location from beach, downtown and the local park. We'll be back again!

Wonderful Retreat

This is the second time we've stayed at this property and we can't wait to come back. The home was really clean and well stocked. Such a relaxing space and close to beach and town. So enjoyed the view, star gazing on the deck and watching the sunsets!

Great getaway

Enjoyed the well furnished and supplied beach home. Especially appreciated the flowers on the deck, the well stocked kitchen, and the spacious closets! Nice access to town and golf course and not far from the beach.

Carol's place is warm and inviting. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful views and the perfect location for walking . Manzanita is one of those sleepier coast towns. Less touristy than Cannon.

Wonderful Home with Beautiful Ocean View

This home is decorated beautifully and equipped with lots of amenities, including games, books, CD player and CDs, ample size kitchen and dining areas, large picture windows, large deck, fresh flowers, plenty of toiletries and paper goods, and much more. We especially enjoyed the beautiful ocean view and the short walk to the beach, which was not crowded at all. We also appreciated that we were close enough to downtown Manzanita to walk there several times rather than driving and parking. This home was in a quiet area and was very comfortable for our stay. I highly recommend it!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home filled with light, art, comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen was a delightful place to cook and the lovely unique serving dishes were a joy to use every day. Savored the ocean views and breeze on the deck. A wonderful peaceful haven with Adirondack chairs and colorful flower pots. Each morning we saw a young deer asleep in the tall grass on the east side of the deck. Walked on the beach and on trails in Nehalem Bay State Park. Quick walk to downtown.Carol is the quintessential host. This place has it all. Hope you’re lucky enough to stay in this Manzanita beach house!

Perfect

Our family of 5 stayed for a little under a week. We walked to the beach every day - a short easy walk from the house. We enjoyed meals and family time in the large family room/kitchen overlooking the ocean. The home itself is very inviting and well kept. For families with little kids, the master is upstairs and two other bedrooms are downstairs. We could still hear our youngest when he needed us at night. The kitchen was fully stocked making meals at home easy. We loved our stay - thank you!

My two friends and I rented this house for my birthday weekend. The home itself if nicely decorated and the rooms were comfortable. However, as I communicated afterward to the hosts, the description of the home's proximity to the beach is inaccurate. The "ocean" is neither "1 minute" away nor 1-1/2 blocks away. It is about 1-1/2 blocks to the beach access trail, a long, narrow trail that leads up and over a steep dune. As one who suffers from chronic pain, and who had planned on a very short walk to the beach, this was too long a walk for me. Instead, my friends and I drove into town each day where there was direct beach access. In addition, be aware that this home would not be good for anyone with mobility issues or trouble with stairs. The driveway is short but steep, there are stairs leading to the door, and there is another flight of stairs from the basement entrance to the kitchen and main public areas. There were other minor issues, which included our being unable to work the new fireplace because the written instructions did not seem to correlate with the new unit. (This was late on our last night there, so we opted not to contact the hosts for clarification.)All that said, the neighborhood was quiet, and the living spaces and kitchen had everything we needed. If it were closer to the beach, I would stay there again.

Two senior couples enjoyed five fabulous nights at this lovely beach-view home. The house was spotless and incredibly well stocked, we didn’t need a thing. The neighborhood is quiet, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. It made an excellent home base for exploring the southern Oregon Coast. Highly recommend!
