Staff are nice and helpful. The air conditioner wasn't strong enough so they brought me a fan which they did promptly. The room didn't have towels, which I found out after I took a shower. The staff in general are very nice and I feel like it's a solid hotel but they need to double check things like towels and so forth.
Tired room, small toilet from children’s kindergarten, hard to use
Difficult shower process to get water flowing

Stranded
We flew into Manila Airport at 03.15am. Prior to our arrival i had emailed the hotel our arrival time to avail ourselves of their airport transfer service. I received a reply confirming a representative will meet us at Bay 14 and bring us to the hotel.
We rang the hotel about 4am only to be told that the hotel does not pick up in early morning! We told them of their email confirming pick up and said we are waiting as arranged previously. The girl said ok. Further call was made at 05.30am to hotel. The girl said " we thought you will get a taxi". We said "No we are still waiting as arranged". We rang again at 6am to be told the driver has been here twice already. This was not true. We had been waiting here all the time. About 6.30am the driver came to collect us. He claimed not to have been told of our booking or calls we had made.
Clearly a bad breakdown in communication at hotel reception and between reception and the driver. It was not a good start to the day.

This is a nice Budget Hotel in the heart of Manila. Near Robinsons Mall and the US Embassy..
Please don't say here this is the worst hotel ihave ever stayed in i have been to the Philipenes 17 time's and This Is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in
The room was good but I can smell that somebody smokes in the room and the air condition doesn’t work very well it wasn’t get cold enough so it’s not really comfortable and while we are resting at night there’s a slamming doors wake us up and wondering what’s happening.
The Swagman now part of Oriental Hotel Group has undergone some renovations in the Dining Area which are nice , the Staff are fantastic given what they are working with . The Rooms are inexpensive by Manila prices generally and it Shows ,,,Old Dark Dingy rooms with mouldy roofs and leaky plumbing , noisy old Aircon and soiled linen . The CR in Our Room was tiny, suitable only for Children . I have stayed here many times over the Years as a one night stopover , the free Airport transfers are handy and reliable for the weary traveler and their Fly the Bus Service too Angeles and Subic is reliable and on time ,,,,The Lift has not worked for ages or is always out of Service when I'm there, so you need to use the Service elevator which is not designed for 2 persons and accompanying luggage !!! Travellers tend too stay one night and move on . It is quite often Full for the Simple reasons everyone can handle a Single night,, and In My opinion it's because of this that they see no need too Renovate the rooms . Disappointing best describes the Hotel !!!
This old hotel should be converted to a warehouse (bodega). Poor service, minature toliets, unreliable transportation, roach infested, noisy, dangerous neighborhood. The hotel encourages bums, unmetered taxis and hustlers to loiter around the front entrance praying on customers. Needs improvment - Now...
I stayed at Swagman on an overnight in Manila. Big mistake! The room was so dirty old and run down. Cable was out, only 2 stations that were barely watchable. Shower was confusing because it was next to the toilet without a curtain separating the two. So when you shower, you have a wet toilet. My hotels.com reservation said "in room safe" and "mini refridge". There were neither in my room. The room was also crawling with roaches. There were so many, I stopped killing them. Thankfully I was only there one night. I would've paid for a room elsewhere otherwise. The only reason I gave a hesitant 2 stars were the staff were really friendly. Never staying there again.
This place does not provide the advertised amenities, nor what would be considered basic for that matter. The Best Western around the corner is a true hotel for the same price. The website claims that there are safes in the room. There are no safes. The deluxe room was barely big enough for the queen sized bed, there was no closet, there were no drawers, only one sink faucet worked, and I had no working shower. I prepaid three nights. My flight was scheduled to arrive around midnight, so I tried to contact the hotel for three weeks in vain to arrange for a late arrival, and to arrange a ride from the airport on their free shuttle. The contact phone number went unanswered, emails sent to the contact email were returned as undeliverable. With the help of two customer service agents at Expedia I was finally able to arrange for my late arrival and airport pickup as I was departing LAX. I traveled over 20 hours to get here, and when I finally arrived at the hotel at about 1:30 AM, I couldn't even take a shower. I slept as best I could until 8:00 AM, at which time I walked to the other hotels in the area, and found the Best Western. My booked reservations at Swagman were not refundable, so I forfeited the cost of two nights of my prepaid reservations, checked out, booked at the Best Western, and enjoyed my stay in Manila before moving on to my final destination.

One of the worst in Manila
One of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed at while in Manila. Had to change rooms 5 times in order to get one where 1. Toilet worked 2. WiFi worked 3. Aircon worked 4. Shower worked.
Supposedly has an Outback Restaurant and airport transfer service. They DO have an Outback menu, but most of the items were "Out of stock". The airport transfer is only at fixed times during daytime hours and is of no use for early/late departures.
Management allows "Ladies of the Evening" to sit at outdoor terrace tables, so as a single guy you have to run that gauntlet every time you go in/out.
In the first 3 days it was a nice room. Then we went to Butuan City for 2 days. When we returned for the last part of our trip we were given a bad dirty room and we had to switch rooms .Then the 2nd room was full of Cockroaches and we could not stay in the room, because the bugs really bother us. We just wasted our money, We told the front desk and she did not really pay attention or care about it. We went to the lobby area for a couple of hours to wait for transportation to the airport .

Best buffet
Was good enjoyed so much the breakfast buffet and the service was great.
Stayed there for my interview with the US Embassy. Room was small but Just Ok for the price. Service was just average and the food was good. Locality was great, it was just a short walk to the Embassy.
