"Kupu Kupu Barong in Ubud, Bali is located in a beautiful area with very good scenery. Being surrounded by the jungle gives the resort a peaceful and natural atmosphere, and the views are truly relaxing and memorable. The hotel staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful throughout the stay. They were welcoming and did their best to make the experience comfortable. However, the property itself feels quite outdated and old. The wooden flooring creaks, some areas seem to be starting to rot, and even some stair posts are visibly deteriorating, which may become a safety concern soon. Because the resort is deep in the jungle where it rains often, they are constantly battling moisture, algae, crawling creatures, and the natural effects of the environment. In my opinion, the property really needs renovation and updating. While staying in the jungle means you are naturally living with nature and the elements, and some travelers may love that experience, for the price, there are newer and more contemporary places to stay elsewhere in Bali that may offer better overall value. Personally, I would likely not return, but if being fully immersed in the jungle environment is your preference, this may still be a good fit for you."

"Most amazing property we have stayed at. It was so serene and unbelievably beautiful. The attention to detail in everything we experienced was unmatched. The food was incredible, the staff was incredible the whole experience was incredible. I will be dreaming of this place for years to come."

"I absolutely loved staying here!! I also got an unexpected surprise from the staff at check in when they found out it was my birthday the day before and they all sang happy birthday to me and gave me a slice of cake, so thoughtful. The place is amazing, the views are perfect, exactly like what is shown. I stayed on river view and it’s a must when staying here. Sri and Desak were so sweet, warm and welcoming!! The whole staff is the absolute best! It’s also close to the Ubud market center and they offer shuttle services. When I come back to Ubud, which I hope is again in the near future, I will definitely be staying here. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! "I had an amazing stay at the Ubud Bali Villa Hotel. Everything was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. The staff were some of the kindest people I’ve ever met—always welcoming and attentive. The service truly stood out, especially how they kindly handled our luggage both upon arrival and when returning to the hotel. The food was absolutely delicious, with great quality and presentation. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Ubud."

" The villa does not look like the pictures at all. It feels very old and has a noticeable smell. Even the bedsheets seem worn and not well-maintained. The pool light wasn’t working, which made it unusable at night. There were also a lot of ants and flies throughout the property. The food was horrible and not up to standard. Overall, the condition, cleanliness, and services were far below expectations."
