"This property either needs to be closed or renovated desperately. The electric blankets are like from the 80s one was broken and the other was hanging on to its dear life. I didn't use it and suffered the bitter cold and the dirty blanket. The toilet literally came off the floor when I sat slightly to one side. We were on our way to Milford Sound from Queenstown and all rooms in Te Anau were completely booked. When we arrived at the hotel office and asked if I could use the toilet, the staff said there was none for guests. We had to drive out and around the closed cafe to reach our room. Everything was like a scene from Bates Motel. Our trip to New Zealand was wonderful with all the friendly and welcoming people, except this one downside. "

"We enjoyed our stay, Phillipa and Rob are excellent hosts. The choice for breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit and muffins. A quick and easy access to the ferry point. Would highly recommend staying here."

"Breakfast very good. Receptionist was excellent. Bar area and staff great. Pool had leaves and insects in it. Didn’t give 5 out of 5 as no lift."
