Discovery 4 Unit #153 is a beautifully decorated and well lit condominium! This unit is for you if you want a cozy and relaxing escape to the mountains.

Maximum Occupancy: sleeps 6 people.

Bed Arrangement: The master bedroom has a very comfortable King size bed, a 32 inch; flat screen, and a private bathroom and shower. The second bedroom also has a queen bed. There is also a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

Unit Amenities: This is a 2 bedroom/2 bath condominium with a full size kitchen, living room and separate dining area that leads out to your very own private deck. There is a full size bathroom with a tub, shower, and a separate vanity area. The full size kitchen has all the basic appliances and equipment for your comfort and convenience. The living room has a 46 inch flat screen TV and DVD player with free cable plus a secured internet connection.

On site amenities: In the recreation room there is coin operated laundry machines, a pool table, video games, a soda machine, and a small reading area. The Jacuzzi and dry sauna are open year round. The pool is heated from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend. Also for fun outdoor grilling there are gas barbecues located in the pool area all year long.

Discovery 4 property is located off Lake Mary Rd. which leads up to Mammoth’s Lake Basin and a short ½ mile to Canyon Lodge the ultimate ski and snowboard place to be!

Met our needs.

A few shortcomings - a lack of ceiling fans, a coffee pot that did not work and loud stomping on the second floor above us. However, the beds were comfortable and the condo met our needs.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Got this place because of the good location, real quick drive to canyon lodge. A bit outdated, but not really an issue as we were looking for a place to crash after snowboarding all day. My main issue was the hot water. It ran out extremely quickly, so when a few of us need to shower it sucks being the last couple of people and having to take a cold shower during winter in Mammoth. I would stay again if they fixed/updated the water heater.

Reviewer Comments: Everything’s was really old ages, bedroom doors very noisy sound when open/close, also found 3 big spiders a size of a thumb in the bathroom sink and bedroom walls.

close to Canyon Lodge

We were happy with the location because it was close enough to walk to Canyon Lodge when driving there proved too difficult in the snowstorm. We were a bit disappointed that a few basic items were not available at the condo and the idea of driving over to the main office to get things we needed was really inconvenient. We cooked most our meals every day, but found no potholders for using the stove, no coffee grinder, and no food storage containers, bags or wraps of any kind. Some dishes were put away without being cleaned - food particles baked on, probably via dishwasher. Only 2 dishtowels in the kitchen was also not enough, as we were using dishes and rewashing frequently. We even ran out of dishwasher packets. There are not enough electrical outlets in each room, and a lamp in the large bedroom was located where it could not even be plugged in anywhere, making the room rather dark. Light bulb was burned out in dining room. We had to replace that. Providing only a single bath towel for each guest to use over a 4 day stay was not enough, especially if you expected to use the jacuzzi. (No extra towels were offered at the spa area.) Hand soap in bathroom was of very low quality. There are lots of easy things to fix and make this a great place to stay. Friendly neighbors at the complex even helped us with shoveling snow as no tools for this were provided at the condo. We encourage you to make these improvements so we can recommend future guests.

Pictures don’t do any justice!! Charming and close to the lodge!

Condo was wonderful!! Comfortable beds, hot showers, Great fireplace with tons of wood! This place really helped make our trip! 3 min drive to the lodge and town. An amazing Sauna and hot tub. The unit had everything we needed, got nice and warm! Was very enjoyable to come home to after a day on the slopes!! Great job. We will be back!
