cleaning service was only available every other day. meaning no fresh towels daily. asked the cleaning staff and hotel reception who refused to give us clean towels, even after we explained that our clean towels were on the bathroom floor. They provided small kids beach towels. The bathroom has an odd sewer smell and the shower was so small you couldn’t move. the shower curtain doesn’t block out any water so the water goes everywhere, hence why we had to put our bath towels on the floor. The shower head was rusty and only a little bit of water comes out. the shower head fell off one night when we were having showers. The air conditioning was horrible. Little to no air comes out even when the temperature was set at 16 degrees. It is impossible to sleep when it’s 40 degrees outside and the air conditioning doesn’t work. the room was disgustingly hot all the time, even with the air conditioning running. We are extremely disappointed that this hotel was so horrible considering the price and the advertising on the internet. It was extremely expensive considering the poor facilities. We traveled around Malta for a month and stayed in multiple hotels. This was one of the most expensive hotels we paid for and the facilities were so much better in other places. The only good thing about this hotel was the location as it was a 5 minute walk from the beach but it does not outweigh the poor quality rooms. Would not recommend staying here

Dear Guest ,Thank you for your review albeit a negative one .please note that the cleaning of the rooms is clearly shown at the booking stage in the fine print .As regards the towels, yes that is correct, towels are changed every other day and only upon request we give normal towels to our guest , not kids towels as you stated . Overall it was good. Room was ok, bathroom door didn’t close, it is quite basic. The cleaner only came once to the room in our stay. The staff were friendly, but we paid quite a lot of money for the service we received.

Great holiday from start to finish-some of the Studio rooms are better than others but a refurbishment project is being undertaken. Cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff was great. Excellent Sky pool area for adults only.

Clean hotel with good service. I liked that one of the outdoor pools was mainly in the shade as it was very hot during August. The apartment was quite small but everything was working (shower, AC).

Decent stay
Overall the hotel is good and pretty well located, near beach, few restaurants and it also has its own mini market for groceries. We could buy food there and cook ourselves. Reception staff is very helpful. The beach of ghadira is among best in malta. Water is shallow and convenient for small kids. Only problem we had with the hotel, the room was not cleaned daily. One day they just replaced towels while floor needed an urgent cleaning. They didn't even do the beds. The next time it was done properly.

No free parking.
Old fashion. But in good shape. Aircondition don't really cool anything down. Got quite annoyed that on the booking they said there was free parking, and in reality there are none. There are public parking, if you are lucky, and if it's not busy.

We tried to cancel as it was too far away for us. The management was rude. The room was cold and dirty sheets. We were promised Wi-fi, which then had to be paid for in the room, or we had to sit it the lobby.

Great stay in a great location
A fantastic base for our holiday, a short walk from some great bars and restaurants, near the beach and right by bus stops connecting to the rest of the island and the departure point for boat tours to Gozo and Comino. Rooftop pool was great, though a shame that it was completely closed on Sunday due to a thunderstorm in the morning (the weather the rest of the day was lovely!).

Lovely time at the Luna
Stayed with another couple for one week, Hotel is conveniently situated close to the beach, ideal for bus routes to get to the rest of the island and local boat trips. Hotel was very clean with friendly and helpful staff. Rooftop pool and bar with stunning views, where you can get great cocktails and varied tasty menu.

The property was in a good location and well maintained. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size clean and had everything we needed. A safe would of been nice to have. The view was great and the pools nice. The down side was the sky lounge which looked amazing and was good service to get a drink but we booked dinner for there and when we turned up got no food service, just a really good bar service so went down to the walkable restaurants for dinner instead.

Pros: Nice /clean room , ac working well , delicious food and serving. Beautiful pools , we enjoyed live music in every night. Very clean hotel and welcoming staff. Luggage room , airport transfer. We spent 5 lovely days in Malta and we loved it. Cons: Shower may need upgraded and poor wifi in the room . We consider to return definitely!

Overall, our stay was just eh.
The hotel itself was nice and the wait staff at the restaurant were so sweet and extremely helpful. Our room however was not the greatest. The air conditioner in the room didn’t work. The ceiling above the shower was so low, my 6ft husband had to bend over to wash his hair. The shower leaked all over the bathroom for which they had a drain in the floor; however, the drain smelled like sewage and that is all you could smell as soon as you opened the door. The bed was as hard as a rock. We called a week in advance to book an airport transfer, but when we arrived at the airport no one was there for us. We called the hotel to find out what happened and they gave us the number for the taxi company. The taxi company said that there was never a ride scheduled for us. The actual hotel was nice, but the rooms could definitely use an update!

They promised "Free Wifi" but wifi was available only in the lobby. I paid more for wifi access in room. And the wifi was really crappy -- it kept disconnecting and was annoyingly slow at times. The bus stops next to the hotels are closed temporarily (for a few months I guess) for some road work. So, we had to walk around 15 minutes to "Skrajda", the nearest bus stop. The "beach" next to hotel is not great either. The hotel rooms were pretty good and the reception staff were courteous. The hotel had a really good indoor swimming pool.

Rude Staff and Unwelcoming Vibe
The most unwelcoming Hotel we've ever stayed in! The attitude of the staff is deplorable. A self catering room (with kitchenette) that does not provide dish soap or dish cloths is ridiculous. Who travels with dish soap and cloths.The front staff just tells you to go out and buy them in the rudest way possible. They have valuated all of the furniture in the room at 5 times the cost of the cheap stuff. You have to pay extra for almost everything including WiFi and Pool Towels. The location is the ONLY thing going for this place. I wasted 3 free nights on this place and still felt ripped off.

This was our first time in a self catering resort so we weren’t sure what to expect so the review is a reflection of this. Overall, we had a great holiday and would recommend Luna Complex. Pros - Great value for money, we paid approx £30 per night. - Good location with a 5 to 10 minute walk to beach and other great beaches such as Paradise Bay were close by. We had a car which I recommend for seeing the island with ease. - A small variety of restaurants were at a walkable distance so you weren’t confined to the resorts facilities. - Couple of local mini marts that sold a good variety of products. - The compact kitchen met our needs for breakfast and preparing lunch. - Friendly staff. - Good cleanliness level. Rooms were cleaned every other day. - Easy to park. Beware of high curbs when opening car door! - Good view of Church from balcony. But much like a lot of Malta, poor town planning meant this sat alongside unattractive apartment buildings ruining the vista. - Blocked drains fixed quickly. Cons: - Additional fee for WiFi in rooms. (Free in reception). - Hairdryer charged at additional cost. - No complimentary water, toiletries or cleaning products for kitchen. - Would ideally have liked room to be cleaned daily as being on a beach holiday meant it was unavoidable to have grains of sand everywhere. - Noisy, ineffective air con unit. - When we drew Receptions attention to our shower that kept flooding the bathroom, they repaired this for our return but had not

Poor room facilities let this Hotel down
Potentially this is very good hotel, with the roof top pool giving an idea of what it could be. Unfortunately, the hotel management seen to be content with minimal room facilities. No free Wi-Fi in the room and tired, dated kitchenette. However, the staff were very friendly & helpful.

Cockroaches in bathroom
We did put our employee to stay at Luna hotel in Mellieha, once she came to the office next morning she told us there was cockroaches in bathroom. I would highly recommend this hotel not to be used for business trips.

The standard and specification finish of this hotel is not what I am used to and not what I expected for a room titled superior. I expected a better look and feel. Everything here was very basic and any perks that would usually be included anywhere else where charged here at an unreasonable fee.
