Older hotel that needs serious renovation. The rooms are Texas size, which is nice. The shower was very easy to use, although I wish it was a walk-in shower rather than a tub-shower combo. The ladies at the front desk were helpful, especially when telling me about popular restaurants in Mabank and Gun Barrel City. I frequented two of them (one Italian; one steakhouse) and they were excellent. But I discovered rust stains in the bedroom section and bathroom, one of the lamps didn't illuminate, the bathroom sink faucet leaked, and the bedspreads looked very worn. The elevator was in poor shape and the breakfast was way below average pertaining to what food and drink were provided. A pathetic selection of items. If this hotel is ever renovated and the continental breakfast greatly improved, this hotel would be first rate.

The room itself was large and seemingly clean. The floor near the AC unit at the window was sunken into the floor. it was almost just carpet over old wood. I dare say we may have fallen through if we weren't paying attention.

Property is in bad need of renovating. Everything was old and a bit tattered. ( dining chairs, bedspreads, etc. ) Was not enough water pressure to wash my daughter’s hair. A/c worked but squealed like crazy off and on all night. breakfast buffet was decent and beds were comfortable. No working ice machines on all three floors!
