About this property
Attractive former stables located on beautiful Victorian private country estate
Set in a beautiful Victorian private country estate of 350 acres of farmland, parkland and woodland on the Dorset/Devon border, the house is situated in a courtyard terrace and was once part of the stable block of the Home Farm near to the main mansion. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break - stroll along tree lined walks, take the path down to the estate's private beach or discover the South West Coastal foot path which runs through the grounds. Perfect for 4 -legged friends too! The Rousdon Estate is a 5 minute drive from Lyme Regis (home to the famous Cobb and some lovely beaches) and only 10 minutes from Axminster where the River Cottage Canteen can be found. In fact, it's a perfect spot for exploring all along the Jurassic coast - from looking for fossils at Charmouth and visiting the Swannery at Abbotsbury to the quietly dignified Regency town of Sidmouth and quaint fishing village of Beer. The house itself offers all home comforts and is equipped to a very high standard. With four bedrooms (1 king, 2 doubles and a bunk room for 2 only appropriate for children) Two en-suite shower rooms, a family bathroom with bath and a downstairs cloakroom ensure you can be up and out quickly to enjoy your day. Outside there is a 50 foot garden lined with shrubs affording a great deal of privacy and a terrace for al fresco dining and barbecuing. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find somewhere suitable and welcoming for faithful companions and a maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at Home Farm North.

Very unique, beautiful location. The house was so comfortable and completely well equipped. The garden was perfect especially as we had perfect weather!! The beach access was closed but we still enjoyed the amazing cliff path along the coast. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your lovely house Sally
Wonderful accommodation in an excellent spot for exploring the local area. Rental properties can be a little light on facilities / equipment but here Sally has not scrimped, couldn't think of a thing extra we could have needed. Would love to return
Fabulous property, lovely family home to stay in with plenty of room. Lots of thoughtful extras for children and dogs. Garden and parking spaces were a bonus. Perfect location for visiting Devon and Dorset.
An excellent week at Home Farm. Cosy and comfortable accommodation, and all the kitchen tools required for Xmas dinner. Many thanks to our hosts, and we'll be back in 2026.
Our family has been coming to this property for a few years now and always look forward to returning. The layout of the rooms is just right for family togetherness. The estate is very peaceful and close to holiday centres like Lyme Regis and Seaton.
Such a beautiful building inside and out. The estate was fabulous and we really appreciated the privilege of a private beach with a fantastic walk to it that inspired the imagination (able to clamber and balance essential) We even found a few fossils there.
Access was easy. Lovely spaces in the house (large lounge / kitchen / bedrooms). We had a great stay and enjoyed the local towns of Lyme Regis and Seaton. Would happily recomend to others.
Absolutely beautiful location, house is definitely a home from home. Very well stocked kitchen, plenty of utensils, crockery, cutlery. Lovely garden for my 2 year old grandson, very safe and secure. Parking rules ensure you can always pull up outside the property. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!
Lovely location for exploring the Jurassic cost. The private estate was really special and perfect for the early morning at late evening dog walks. Getting to the private beach was an adventure but not an easy trek that one would want to do regularly. The property is well laid out for a social blue family gathering. The large kitchen was well equipped making it easy for everyone one to get involved. On fine days the south facing enclosed garden provided a welcome space to share an outside meal and drinks. Overall it is a real gem of a place.
We had an great time with friends in this wonderful house. The kitchen is really well furnished with anything we could need and the living area large enough for all 8 of us. Thanks for a lovely stay
Good property for family gatherings. Plenty of space for everyone to be together. Lovely walks nearby - along South Coast path and to the private beach.
Had a lovely family week in a lovely location, lovely large spacious house, wonderfully clean, very well equipped, thoughtful touches.

Beautiful period property
We really enjoyed our three night stay and would loved to have stayed longer.
Tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard and kitchen very very well equipped!!
Thank you Gill for a memorable stay
Sadly weather not great, but beautiful house. It had everything you need. The beach we only found on the last day, it was a bit of a trek, but worth it .
