Cheltenham Chase Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Some really good points to start. The location of the hotel is super handy for Gloucester/Cheltenham/Cotswolds etc the car park is large and free. We didn’t find any issues with parking. The room we stayed in for a week was their basic double and it was large with a comfortable bed. The room was serviced each day. We opted not to have their breakfast but did eat once at the hotel. The service was pretty slow and the bar service was also slow. We had a treatment in the spa it was very average. Nothing you’d feel like you needed to complain about but also no something I would buy again. The facilities are small and the locker room needs a refresh. Overall found this to be a good base to explore the area."

Hotel Indigo Gloucester The Forum By IHG

"I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo Gloucester and was genuinely impressed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, beautifully modern, and thoughtfully equipped (they even provide brollies, which was such a nice touch). The reception staff were super friendly, and our waitress at dinner was lovely, making the evening feel relaxed and welcoming. Dinner itself was enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt fresh and comfortable. There were a couple of service issues worth mentioning. Breakfast was quite slow — I waited 30 minutes just for a cup of tea, and the team didn’t seem fully in sync. At one point I overheard a manager speaking sharply and dressing down an employee, which felt uncomfortable as a guest, (more so for him I’me sire). Later that evening, drinks in the restaurant took over 40 minutes to arrive, which was surprising given how good the dinner service itself was. Overall, though, this is a clean, modern, and stylish hotel with excellent staff in most areas, and I would stay again, especially if the restaurant becomes more coordinated."

"The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful and polite. The position of the hotel was excellent for exploring the area. The room size was fine and the amenities good. What the room needed was air conditioning, I realise it is extreme heat and a fan was provided but I believe it was way too hot and oppressive. The water system was ropey and waiting for the water to arrive and the bathroom in general needed updating. However the room was clean."
