"Aurora cabins were super cute and had our own sauna. The food with half board was delicious and the lodge had great access to cross country ski trails. The only thing I wish they had was robes for the room (as often had to run out of the bathroom and everyone can see into your glass room) and a head board so the pillows didn’t keep falling off the bed! Haha"
"I stayed here for four nights in January and overall it’s a nice hotel. The food (breakfast was free) and dinner were pleasant. If you order from the buffet the food is of course of Finnish delicacy but the à la carte menu is good with lots of options and good prices for food and alcoholic drinks. The rooms themselves are pleasant slightly on the smaller side, but the bathroom is lovely with a great shower. The view from the bedrooms is also lovely, but there’s a couple of things that I could do with improving across the bedrooms.
First thing is the glass windows should be one way (so you can see out but you cannot see in). The view outside is so stunning you want to be able to have your curtains open all the time but you can’t because people can see directly in and windows face each other. Secondly, it would be nice to have some more amenities in the room. There was only green tea,
in my room. I feel there should be one of every tea(I had to go back into the main dining hall in order to get additional teabags, but these are not supplied as standard during housekeeping). It would also be nice to have small plates / small juices?
In the bathroom, something a small as shower caps small set of tweezers et cetera would make for a better experience.
One thing I couldn’t stand is the two single beds - I don’t know if there was an option to have one king/queen bed but this option wasn’t provided to me. The separate bed"
"Absolutely magical 3-night stay at the Saariselka Wilderness Hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent food and the private jacuzzi and sauna were a wonderful indulgent treat! Highly recommended, would love to pay a return visit! "
"Hotels.com advertises a games room but there’s no such thing here. Room was nice enough - breakfast was in a very dated room and not great I couldn’t even eat the scrambled eggs as were horrible. Staff gave us incorrect info about airport bus. "
"A stunning property with excellent front desk staff and rustic yet beautiful rooms. West village large cabin and kelo igloo rooms were both great. Love the in-room sauna!"
"It has been a dream of mine to visit Finland in the winter. This year it became possible. When I started looking for places to stay, the cabin popped up in my search.I loved it here and this area. I am not a skier, but found plenty of hiking trails so I was able to do a different route everyday of my four days here. The cabin was cozy, had all the amenities I needed, and I was so grateful they even had hiking poles after mine were confiscated at a security checkpoint at an airport. While I was in the area, I saw more of this style of cabin, but they were grouped in large numbers. I appreciated the quiet and solitude of this location.I would stay here again in a heartbeat."
