The hotel is also in the centre of Saariselkä which is compact and pedestrian friendly so this makes it easy if you’re using buses to get in and out of town and don’t have a vehicle. Be aware that activities book out and so if you want to do more than hiking you’ll need to plan and book ahead."

"Gáldu Hotel and Spa is an idyllic spot for a truly relaxing getaway. The food was incredible, and although the location is slightly remote, it hardly matters when the hotel’s facilities are of such a high standard. Breakfast was next level — a beautifully presented buffet with plenty of choice, alongside freshly prepared hot options. The spa was also a fantastic experience, clearly well maintained and thoughtfully managed. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive, and it’s clear the owners have put a great deal of care and thought into every detail of the hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

Maybe 5-7 minute walk to the top of the village and 20th to the downhill ski resort. 3 min walk to the trails. Everything was amazing!"
